Cinema Supervisor (Part-time)

Job Description

Position: The 24:1 CinemaSupervisor is an integral part of the Cinema team. The Cinema Supervisor is an hourly, entry-level management position who reports to the Cinema General Manager.

The primary responsibilities of the Cinema Supervisor include: guest relations- providing patrons an exceptional theater experience, theater operations, supervision of theater staff, floor operations and facility and grounds management, concession and food service operations, theater equipment operations and maintenance as needed, and financial and administrative duties.

The Cinema Supervisor may be asked at any time to assume the responsibilities of any one of the duties of a Service Host (duties described below):

GUEST SERVICE HOSTS

Collect and tear tickets, issuing stubs for entry into the theaters

Direct movement of people, and monitor attendance by MMPA ratings

Monitor temperature, audio and visual film presentations and communicate issues to management

Clean theater areas

Receive theater deliveries and stock items

Change signs, posters and marquees

Assist with emergency guest evacuation

Other duties as assigned

CONCESSION HOSTS

Prepare and serve products

Collect money and make change for concession purchases

Restock merchandize

Collect coupons

Maintain clean service area

BOX OFFICE HOSTS

Sell tickets

Collect and make change

Distribute and accept coupons

Answer phones

Change box office signage

Complete reports

Monitor attendance by MPAA ratings

Other duties required of a Cinema Supervisor include, but are not limited to:

Supervision of theater staff

  • Supervise and direct theater personnel to complete tasks
  • Assist with training staff as needed

Floor Operations, Facility and Grounds

  • Maintain facilities and equipment in safe and clean environment
  • Respond quickly to any theater safety, repair or maintenance needs
  • Supervise vendors and other outside contractors
  • Maintain exterior facilities and equipment- including parking lot and grounds

Concession and Foodservice operations

  • Prepare and serve quality refreshments in a safe and clean environment
  • Replenish workstations, materials and supplies
  • Receive and store perishables and non-perishable items
  • Manage loss control efforts and waste reduction

Projection Booth Operations

  • Operate equipment in absence of booth personnel

Experience and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Able to pass a background check
  • Prefer prior experience in a theater or retail environment
  • Prior experience supervising others preferred
  • Able to maintain confidentiality
  • Within 2 weeks of beginning employment, must provide proof of vaccination against the Hepatitis A virus
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a changing environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include: nights, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds, and bend, lift, stoop on ladders or steps as needed
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Manual dexterity to operate,repair and clean cinema equipment
  • Computer and 10 key calculator experience
  • Able to count U.S. currency, make change and bank deposits as needed
  • Flexibility to perform any other theater position as necessary
  • Must have a driver’s license, insurance and reliable transportation
  • Other duties as assigned
