OPENING PRAYER –Sister Joan
MINUTES REVIEW / REVISIONS / ACCEPTANCE –December’s minutes approved by consensus.
PASTORAL ADMINISTRATOR REMARKS – Sister Joan
  • CMA Update: 214 donors have pledged $42,475.94; 89.98% of our goal
  • United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) designated March 26thas a Day of Penance. Churches holding confessions from 12:30-7:30pm that day. Retired priests will assist with confessions
  • Legacy of Hope – Diocesan Campaign to benefit retired priests and education of seminarians. Almost $11 million raised and the diocese is asking parishes to assist. Our parish target is $29,167 – it’s a target; if we don’t reach it, we are not responsible for the shortfall.
  • Soup for the Soul has been fairly well received – 12 people consistently; Barron’s Series on Catholicism
  • Parish Newsletter for February-March is available electronically and on the website
  • Ryan McElhiney is RCIA candidate - will attend the Rite of Election at Sacred Heart Cathedral on 2/17.

LIAISON REPORTS

Liturgy – Ralph Whiteman

  • Discussion evaluating the Advent/Christmas celebrations. Each Mass had its own positive energy and the change from Mass at Midnight to Mass at 10pm was a success.
  • Jan 20 – Feb 10: Resurrection will collect spare change in baby bottles for Care-Net. Also will collect old palm for Ash Wednesday.
  • Ash Wednesday masses - 8:30am / 7pm on February 13th. Other Lenten activities include adult education programs with 3 different speakers (dates w posted in the newsletter / bulletin).
  • Shadow Stations: Youth group = March 3rd / Adults = 4th.
  • Operation Rice Bowl will be throughout Lent.
  • Holy Week services will be held on Holy Thursday (followed by night prayer until 11pm), Good Friday, Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday. All dates and times will be posted in the newsletter and bulletin.

Stewardship – Chuck Moynihan

  • Last meeting Dec 11, 2012 / next meeting Feb 12, 2013
  • Prepared / wrapped Christmas presents for adopted family in caring and sharing program at Dec 11 meeting.
  • Partnered with Finance Committee for Jan 27 pancake breakfast

Development – Charlie Roberts

  • No updates

Social Justice - Anthony DiBernardo

  • Sponsored Jan 16th presentations by Links at the Pines of Perinton, Generations 2, and the Maplewood Library. Approximately 45 parishioners attended presentations.
  • Soup for Souls is being hosted in January/February for seniors.
  • Public Policy Weekend (2/9-2/10) – parishioners will be asked to sign petition to provide funding for adequate childcare
  • Habitat for Humanity – looking for sponsor for 2014 house to be built

Welcome – Marianne Eisenhardt

  • 1 new family registered (has been active in parish)

Finance – Greg Burke

  • As of December 31, 2012
  • Unrestricted cash / bank accounts = $168K / restricted accounts = $82K
  • Concern area - Collections $11K behind budget (same collected as last year
  • Operating surplus of approx $13K due to expenses approx $19K below budget
  • Pancake breakfast w/ Stewardship Committee raised approx $390 for Jubilee celebration

Youth – Amanda Hewes / Andrew Paratore

  • Super Bowl Party held Feb 3rd
  • Pasta Dinner fundraising for REACH trip: Feb 7th
  • Swain Winter Weekend: Feb 22nd – 24th

NEW BUSINESS

  • Stewardship Survey Results (Chuck Moynihan)
  • Strong positive feedback
  • Responses to survey comment
  • Sister Joan will ask Brian Waldmiller to prepare info. regarding music preparation, etc.
  • Sister Joan will ask Michelle Andrews-Smith to prepare info regarding Adult Education
  • Jubilee (John Callard) – see attached document
  • Tentative: Jubilee Mass – April 14th, Picnic – August, Dinner – Fall
  • Andrew Paratore suggested he and fellow students provide jazz entertainment
  • Parishioner suggested 4:00PM Saturday mass Labor Day – Memorial Day. Decision to leave as is due to varying mass availability in local churches.
  • Discussion regarding establishing endowment for future REACH trips. Charlie Roberts will ask Cathy Reitz to discuss REACH funding at future Council meeting.
