GENERAL DUTIES:

The education and welfare of a KS 2 Class in accordance with the requirements of the School Teachers’ Pay

and Conditions Document, having due regard to the requirements of the National Curriculum, the

school’s Church of England ethos, aims, objectives and schemes of work, and any policies of the Governing

Body. To share in the corporate responsibility for the well being and discipline of all pupils.

TO WHOM RESPONSIBLE: Head Teacher

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

• To be responsible for the management of the subject areas listed below throughout the school.

• Ordering and organise the storage of resources.

• Manage the budget allocated to those curriculum areas.

• Act as consultant, advisor and in-service organizer to other staff, sharing knowledge and ideas

• Show by personal example how the subject areas listed below can be used to both enhance and

differentiate all areas of the curriculum.

• Keep up to date with the philosophy, teaching methods and resources.

• Liaise with outside agencies.

• Assist with preparation, implementation and monitoring of School Improvement Plan for the areas listed

below.

• Assist with the updating of policies relating to the areas listed below.

• Attend in-service courses, visits and carry out personal study.

• Be involved in target setting, monitor and report on standards in the subject area listed below.

• Respond to requirements of assessment and assist in appropriate forms of profiling

• Ensure by consultation that their areas of responsibility receive adequate consideration in the course of a

year.

• Look to other members of staff for support and advice in carrying out responsibilities and offer the same

when asked.

• Report back to staff on the above and discuss associated issues.
