You may also choose to search “multiple databases.”

HOW DO I ACCESS THIS SERVICE?

There are two ways to access these journals and/or books: (1.) You may go to the CHS intranet site, click on the “Resources Tab” and select EBSCO Literature Search on the dropdown menu or (2.) You may go to the “CHS Resources” shortcut/icon on your computer desktop and click on “Ebsco host”.

HOW DO I LEARN TO USE THIS SERVICE?

Performing a literature search in this system is very much like using Lister Hill Library remote access or services such as Pub Med. Additionally, once you get to the home page, online tutorials are available to assist you.

CHS Ovid eBooks and eJournals

CHS has online, full text access to selected Nursing and Allied Health journals that were not previously available in full text. You can access these titles directly through your CHS computer.

There are two ways to access these journals and/or books: (1) You may go to the CHS intranet site, click on the “Resources Tab” and select Ovid Literature Search on the dropdown menu or (2) You may go to the “CHS Resources” shortcut/icon on your computer desktop and click on the Ovid icon.

Once at the Ovid site, you may search for your desired topic by following the directions listed on the right hand side under “Hints” or you may access the resources directly through the “Browse Journals” or “Browse Books” links.

In addition, these titles are linked into our EBSCO literature search so that if an article from these titles appears in your EBSCO search results you will be able to access the full text. Reminder: for a comprehensive literature search, EBSCO should be your first search choice since it searches multiple databases and has access to many more resources.

Both the EBSCO and Ovid sites may be accessed from your home computer, but for security reasons you will need to contact Joan Carlisle () for the username and password.
