From traditional osteopathy to modern osteopathy

Franz Buset, Giacomo Lo Voi, Renzo Molinari

DATES / From 12 to 14 September 2010
PRICE / 555€
VENUE / Ios Palace Hotel & Spa Mylopotas beach, Ios 84001 Cyclades, Greece

PROGRAM

A unique opportunity to share the knowledge of three prominent Osteopaths: Franz Buset (CBO-Bruxelles),Giacomo Lovoi (CSOT-Roma), Renzo Molinari (Iaso-Barcelona-London). From their personal interpretation of Traditional Osteopathy, they will guide you through their diagnostic and treatment approaches.
You will have the opportunity to practice with them the techniques they have developped(structural with and without impulse, functional and fascial unwinding)
Students can register in the previous course held in Ios "Osteopathy in Pediatrics" by Bruno Ducoux. The cost of the two courses in ios is 950€

Content Franz Buset

Based on the 30 years of practice experience (practical and clinical), synthesised in a seminar.

  • A short presentation of the Chapman reflejes to be capable to use it in the general practice (also in a clinical and practical way)
  • Relation of the reflex points with the structure and the viscera
  • Practical workshop
  • Integration in clinical cases
  • Explain, demonstrate and practice as structural approach without impulse and the different techniques (visceral) Developer during 30 years of practice

Content Giacomo Lo voi

The purpose of this seminar is to overturn some assumptions, caused by some misunderstandings, about the osteopathic mechanics when it’s interpreted as a mere application of an osteo-musculo-articular correction.

It aims at proving that the force lines concept and, above all, the application of Littlejohn’s physiology is instead relevant and precursory of the holistic approach more and more used in the daily practice of osteopathy.

The easy and practical clinical applications of the respiratory and circulatory mechanism and of the physiology of spine curves through some concrete application models in daily practice will be showed.

The seminar wants to introduce osteopaths to the use of specific and easy manipulative techniques using the patient’s body movement.

Seminar programme:

-A short introduction of J. M. Littlejohn and definition of osteopathy, the osteopathic model common to the different methodologic approaches.

-The core question of therapeutic attitude, state of health and state of illness. The body as vital mechanism.

-Possible causes of somatic dysfunctions. The importance of respiratory-circulatory physiologic model through the use of mechanic models.

-Treatement objectives and therapeutics.

-The function of the different spine curves. The importance of structures from birth to orthostatism.

-Breathing mechanism, maintenance of erect position and their relationships.

-Force lines passing through the body in orthostatism and in movement, straight lines and AP-PA oblique lines, force vectors acting on spine: comparative study with the respiratory physiology and clinical consequences, how to intervene therapeutically.

-The physiology of spine arches and their treatment.

-A basic treatment protocol, relationships with traumas and their solutions.

Content Renzo Molinari

Renzo Molinari will analyse the organisation of the body as a whole unified through its connective structure. The techniques will address the fascia trying to unravel the lesional history of the patient. This course ambition is to look at tissular deprogrammation.

The three courses are complementary and will form a practical basis for the students to develop.
