All of the following documents must be turned in on August 10th in order to schedule an interview!! Please have the documents paper clipped together in the order listed.

MMS Dance Team Try Out Requirements

Participants must:

-be a bona-fide student of Montford Middle School during the 2015-2016 school year.

-Have at least a 2.5un-weighted cumulative GPA (If selected to be a dance team member, you must maintain a 2.5un-weighted GPA for each grading period. Failure to do so at the end of a grading period will result in dismissal from the team.)

-Maintain all threes and fours in citizenship scores for any grading period

-Completion of all appropriate documents included within this packet. Documents must be turned in completed, signed and in correct order to be eligible to try out.

If selected to be a part of the Montford Middle School Dance Team, you are committing to attend each scheduled practice and performance event.

Practices:

Monday and Wednesdays each week from 4:15-6:15.

Expected Performance Events:

August-October:

  • Football Season

November-December

  • Girls Basketball Season
  • Tallahassee Winter Parade

January-February

  • Boys Basketball Season

Try Out Schedule

August 10th, 20154:00pm – Must have completed all paperwork. . Upon approval of completed documents, participants will sign up for a five minute mandatory interview with the coach. Interviews are on a first come first serve basis.

August 11th, 20154:00 – 6:00 pm – Clinic conducted by Montford coach and Chiles High School Dance Team Members. Please wear black dance pants/shorts, all black dance top (NO COVER UP SHIRTS) and jazz shoes. Please leave jewelry at home and wear hair in a SECURE ponytail.

August 12th, 20154:00 – 6:00 pm – Same as above.

August 13th, 20154:00 pm – Tryouts begin. Please wear black dance pants, black tank top, hair securely in a slicked back bun and jazz shoes. Do not wear any MMS or dance studio designed dancewear.

The 2015-2016 Montford Middle School Dance Team will be posted on the Montford website by Friday, August 14th.

MMS Dance Team Contract

As a MMS dance team member, I will:

  1. Cooperate with teammates.
  2. Know my routines and formations before each performance.
  3. Be prepared and responsible at all times.
  4. Have good attendance and minimal absences.
  5. Maintain a 2.5 un-weighted GPA each nine weeks.
  6. Keep my team costumes in good condition.
  7. Be responsible for staying on task during practices, games and performances.
  8. Refrain from socializing with family and friends when I am in the stands or on the sidelines.
  9. Keep in good standing with the school.

In order to reach our full potential as a team, adhering to these rules and policies is extremely important. Being a member of this team is a privilege
