CORNUCOPIA LAUNCHES GROUNDBREAKING RADIO PROGRAM

Cornucopia Cancer Support Center launches a new radio program – the first in North Carolina – that will provide a forum for conversations about the cancer journey. The host-guest call-in show, called That Cancer Show™, provides the Triangle and Triad communities an opportunity to ask questions and talk about their personal experiences with cancer.

That Cancer Show™ will air weekly on Sunday evenings, 8-9 p.m., beginning April 1 on two of Curtis Media’s flagship radio stations – WPTF 680AM in Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill and WSJS 600 AM serving the Greensboro-Winston Salem-High Point market.

The first program will address the stress, fatigue and pain associated with cancer, and how exercise and yoga can play a role in relieving these symptoms.

Each program features a theme associated with dealing with cancer, whether as a patient, survivor, family member or caregiver. The program will feature persons journeying with cancer, local and national experts and others who provide various perspectives on nonclinical cancer care and complementary therapies.

“The cancer journey is difficult and complex. Many people find support in talking with others about their experiences,” said Mary Lawrence, president and CEO of Cornucopia. “That Cancer Show™ provides information about ways to cope with cancer. It enables individuals throughout North Carolina to learn from each other and hopefully become more confident in their abilities to live life to the fullest, no matter where they are on the journey.”

Lawrence is host of That Cancer Show™ with Curtis Media’s David Richmond. Karen Wolstenholme, a Cornucopia volunteer and former broadcast production manager, is the program’s producer.

Each weekly program will be accessible via podcast on Cornucopia’s website:

Cornucopia is the leader and pioneer in nonclinical cancer care in the Triangle and beyond. Its mission since 1995 is to be a place where anyone touched by cancer can find the support and resources to live life to the fullest. Information is available at 919/401-9333 or online at
