Chronological Outline of the Campaign and Subsequent Design Process

November 2006

Commitment Sunday was held on November 5. More than $5 million was pledged in support of building a new facility that creates more space for more people to worship, study, fellowship, and serve.

June 2007

After months of prayer and negotiations, we closed on our new property! We own 24.93 acres of the land on the east side of Hwy 281 between Redland Road and Encino Rio.

September 2007

Committees are created to help research possible design elements and to serve on the various teams to provide input to the overall design of the new facility.

October 2007

Programming stage initiated. All the data was gathered to define who Northside is and what general space requirements were for the various ministries and activities held in the church building.

February 2008

The architect and design team leaders presented the first sketches of the floor plans. Time was then spent reviewing the plans and revising them to optimize all the space for maximum potential.

May 2008

Members of the Design Team met with the Encino Park Homeowners Association to introduce themselves to our new “neighbors.” We hope many residents of this area will soon be part of the Northside family.

September 2008

Final floor plans are complete and the elders have approved them!

October 2008

The Design Development stage begins. Now that floor plans are finalized, the architect is converting the plans into a software program that will allow for the creating of a computer model of the building. Mechanical and civil engineers are now involved in the process as structural components, site development, and topography work can be considered.

March 2009

It is estimated that by this date the Design Development stage will be complete and construction documents can be initiated. Once construction documents are complete, the church can begin collecting bids from general contractors.
