Chronological Format

I wrote my chronological resume because I think that it gives a clear view of my skills and developments to employers. By ordering my skills and past jobs by date, a potential employer can see what I had developed in the time period stated. Employers can also view my progress throughout the years from job to job (Climbing slowly up the corporate ladder). In short, it is just a subtle way to boast to employers that you are capable of learning new things in a limited amount of time

I chose a chronological resume because I felt the format looked very organized. It shows the employer the skills that I learned/used within each specific place of employment which is beneficial because they can see how I developed over the years and gain some perspective to how I could grow within their work environment. I also thought that a chronological resume would be beneficial because I have participated in some volunteer experiences where I have learned many useful skills, which would be even more applicable then some of my pats work placements and with a chronological resume, I am able to highlight this. Finally, I chose to have a chronological resume because it assists me in enforcing that although I have worked for various companies which might not at first, seem relative to the field which I want to get into, the specific positions have allowed me to develop the skills which would be useful in any line of work

I felt though that this type of resume is the most clear and concise way to present my personal information. It allows employers to skim quickly through the resume and find exactly what they are looking for.

I initially chose the chronological style of resume because the Co-op office recommended it, while I was in the Co-op stream of my co-op program. Furthermore, the chronological resume is a very popular form of resume style and thus easily identified with my employers. The chronological resume provides a quick and easy read with the necessary information readily available to reading the resume. Finally, I chose the chronological resume because I aspire to work in the business world and, at the time, this type of resume was said to be the prominent form utilized within the sector of employment

Combinational Format

I chose the combination resume type as I felt it could most accurately describe the employment and volunteer experiences in which I have been involved. Through a combination of different area of experience, chronologically listed, I am able to clearly show an employer all my areas of expertise. In addition to this, combination resumes have a separate area where developed skills can be listed demonstrating my position as an applicant who us employable and who will enrich the work environment

Functional Format

Choosing a functional style resume has been a great advantage to me in my field of expertise. I have been working in the area of information technology for a few years now. Therefore, I am able to use this style to display the many different types of training and knowledge I have acquired within the workforce. By using this type of resume, it is easy to see the relevant skills I have so that employers know I could be the right person for their job.
