Dear Valued Friends,
I have come to a very difficult decision to retire from dental practice. I have been practicing in Oakland for over 30 years. I have enjoyed treating each and every one of you, even treating three generations in some families. Many of my friends have sought treatment with us. It is very hard to say goodbye, but it is the right decision at this stage of my life.
To maintain the continuing care of my friends and family, I have hand selected Dr. Christopher Thomas to take over your care. He is a caring, calm, and meticulous dentist. Dr. Thomas’ work is exceptional and reviewing his treatments has confirmed my confidence in his abilities. He is thorough, practical, and empathetic. His goal is to continue the quality of care for which you have shown me your loyalty over these many years.
His education is impressive. Dr. Thomas is a graduate of the University of California San Francisco Dental School. After dental school, he furthered his education by completing an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at UCSF and increased his skillset to provide even more specialized dental care. He firmly believes in continuing education and participates in monthly study clubs to enhance and update himself on new and innovative developments in dentistry.
Dr. Thomas is a native to the Bay Area. He grew up, studied, and has practiced here is whole life. He is excited to be able to get to know and care for all of you.
I am so appreciative of your trust and support, and am eternally grateful for the many relationships that I have formed through the years with you, my wonderful patients.

Please let me introduce myself. My name is Christopher Thomas and I’m truly grateful and excited for the opportunity to be your dentist! The bay area has always been my home and I am delighted to be able to put down my roots here, in the Oakland community.
I know many of you may be disappointed about Dr. Chan’s decision to retire, but please know that I promise to give you my best each and every day and to treat you as I would treat my own friends and family. I will give you outstanding dental care and provide you with an honest, thorough, and comfortable experience at the office. My goal is to form personal relationships with each and every one of you and establish a dental plan that will help you continue to keep your teeth for life.
I will show you what is possible in dentistry and help you understand the techniques and treatments that are out there to help maintain and improve your smile! During this period of transition, I hope to gradually increase the technology we offer at the office to give you a dental experience that you’ve never had before.
I ask that you give me a chance to impress you and to show you what we can accomplish together. I know that when we meet, we can start to build the same trust and confidence that you’ve had with Dr. Chan over his many years of practice.
