My Dear Friends

“Christ is risen! – He is risen indeed!” These words, used as a greeting on Easter morning, go back to the very earliest days of the Church.

You might wonder why Christians make such a fuss about Easter. You might think it all ended with the death of Jesus on a rough Roman cross.

You might want to take another look.

Jesus identified with our pain and suffering as he went to the cross; whipped and tortured by the Roman soldiers, with a crown of thorns on his head, he was abused and taunted. Yet he went through with it so that we could know God’s forgiveness, and live life differently.

Christians believe the story did not end at the cross. We believe that Jesus not only died, but rose from the dead and is alive today.

Why not do something different this Easter! - come to church and join us as we celebrate the Risen King – the Saviour of the world who is still changing lives today!

May I take this opportunity to wish you a happy and peaceful Easter.

Jim Redpath

The next prayer group meeting is on Thursday 9th April at

Tea/Coffee/Biscuits

Why not join us in the church after the service to have a chat with a cup of tea or coffee and biscuits. This venture is to allow for a time of fellowship, a catch-up, or to meet andwelcome newcomers to the church. Please come along and joinus on each Sunday with the exception of the first Sundayin the month when we have lunches in the church hall. We lookforward to welcoming you.

Guild Report

Our Guild meetings are over until the autumn. We have enjoyed some very good speakers over this last session. We have two events before we have our break.

The first is a Coffee Evening on Friday 10 April 2015 when we have Doreen Arnott and Friends coming along to entertain us. This will be in the Church Hall from 7 p.m. for 7.30 p.m.

Tickets can be had from any of our members, price £7, which includes a finger buffet supper and we will have a raffle.

The second event is our Summer Outing to Gardening Scotland at Ingleston on Saturday 30 May. The cost of this outing will be £30 which includes bus fare, entry to grounds and High Tea on the return journey. Anyone interested in joining us will be most welcome. Details from May Barrie or Betty Boucher.

As you know we are now a Fairtrade church, using Fairtrade coffee

and tea after the service, for any meetings and for the church

lunches. Traidcraft products can be purchased after the service at our ‘not for profit’ stall to support our brothers and sisters overseas.

Thanks to everyone for your continued support.

Products available: tea, coffee, pasta, rice, pineapple pots, chocolate, etc

Surplus Pews

The church has a surplus of pews and has decided to offer these to its members and families for a donation. Should you be interested please contact Ian or Carol Fraser.
