Fathers@CHR Event – Parenting talk on “How to improve Father-Child Relationship” and DIY Ice-cream making with Fathers
Amazing things can happen when a family comes and do things together. A family that bonds together will be a family that is united forever. Spending time as a family will strengthen family relationships and avoid the pitfalls of having the family disconnected during the child’s crucial developmental stages.
The role of a father is very important as more often than not, the father is a child’s role model. The growth and development of a child is often neglected and the self-esteem of a child is adversely affected when there is an absence of a fatherly figure in the household. The father is also the person who imparts life skills and principles to the child.
Through this workshop, the speaker will share what unique strengths that fathers have that can positively impact their child’s development. Fathers will be equipped to improve on the relationship with their child.
The DIY Ice-cream making session is a good way to bond, have fun and improve your relationship with your child. Through the ice-cream making activity, both the father and child will get to express their creativity, develop thinking and relating skills as they work together as a father-child pair to create their own ice cream masterpiece.
PSG Talk on “Love Language for Teenagers”
Ever had an argument with your teenage child and wished they could just read your mind? If only they knew how you were feeling, they’d stop putting up a fight. Thant’s the sort of idea behind the concept of love languages – we all express and feel love differently, and understanding those differences can help to improve on your relationship with them.
At the end of this session, you and your teenage child should have a better understanding of each other’s love language. The speaker will also share some tips on better communication with your teenage child.
Parenting/Students Talk on “Porn-NO-graphy – Speaking to our children on internet sex and pornography
In a survey conducted by Touch Cyber Wellness earlier this year on 921 students aged 13 to 15 to examine teenage exposure to pornography, nine in every 10 teenage boys in Singapore have watched or read sexually explicit materials within the past year, with some first exposed to it even before they start primary school.
Through this eye-opening and informative workshop, the trainer will share insights on the social impact of cyber related issues, specifically how “pornography” that has gradually infiltrated our lives – adverts, magazines etc, and what our teens are seeing online. The trainer will also share some tips on how to better communicate and talk to your teenage child on pornography.
