Chiun-Sheng Huang, president of the Breast Cancer Society of Taiwan, is a professor of surgery at the National Taiwan University College of Medicine, and director of breast care center at the National Taiwan University Hospital, Taipei, Taiwan. Dr Huang obtained his MD and PhD from the National Taiwan University College of Medicine, and obtained a Master of Public Health degree from the Harvard School of Public Health.

Dr Huang has dedicated his career to the prevention and treatment of breast cancer. His areas of research include: the use of ultrasound in breast cancer screening; single nucleotide polymorphism as susceptibility and prognostic factor for breast cancer; and development of new regimens and biomarkers using neoadjuvant therapy.

Dr. Huang has been the chief investigator of two clinical trials in Taiwan: a nationwide randomized trial of breast cancer screening using ultrasound and mammography for women aged 40–49; and a multi-center trial of tailored neoadjuvant chemotherapy for breast cancer. He is also a chief investigator of a global randomized trial of active immunotherapy in metastatic breast cancer and acts as a Steering Committee member in three global trials investigating two anti-Her-2 target therapies: afatinib in metastatic setting and T-DM1 in adjuvant and neoadjuvant setting.
