2009 FOURTH OF JULY PARADE
The Chippewa Lake Lions Club invites you to participate in our
ANNUAL FOURTH OF JULY PARADE. This year’s parade theme will be:
ChippewaLakePark – Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow
We hope you will join us this year to celebrate one of our favorite holidays.
The parade line-up will start at 12:00noon on Saturday July 4, 2009 and the parade will start promptly at 1:00 p.m. The parade begins at GloriaGlensTown Hall on Lake Road and ends at LionsPark. The route is a little over a mile of flat pavement.
Our parade judges will be two members of the “All American Judges Association.” This group has been doing a fine job for us for many years. As you all know, they have a big job in sorting out all the different entries in a short period of time, and they seem to handle this very well.
Trophies were awarded last year in some of the following categories: Best of Parade, Most Original Entry, Best Color Guard and Jr. Color Guard, Best Girl Scout or Boy Scout Entry, Best Commercial Entry, various 4-H Entries, Best Military Unit, various Float Entries, Best Horse, Best Animal and Best Draft Horse Units, Best Classic/Antique/Street Rod Entries, Best Antique Truck and Fire Truck and various Fire and Rescue Units. This year some special Theme trophies may be added. This trophy list is subject to change depending on the type and the number of entries received.
All Antique and Classic Vehicles that enter by June 10, 2009 will receive a DASH PLAQUE. The other units that wish to qualify for a trophy should send their entry by June 15, 2009. Last minute entries will be accepted up until the start of the parade, but we cannot guarantee that you will qualify for a trophy. Trophies and plaques will be awarded immediately following the parade and recipients of the same must be present.
LAST MINUTE PARADE INFORMATION WILL BE SENT OUT APPROXIMATELY 1 WEEK BEFORE THE PARADE.
We appreciate all of you who have participated in the past parades and look forward to seeing you again this year. We encourage those of you who have never entered our parade to join us this year for our “BIG OLD FASHIONED PARADE.”
