MINNIKOTA YOUTH WINTER RETREAT 2017 -The Annual MIK Youth Winter Retreat will be held at Swan Lake outside Viborg, SD from Feb 17-19. Winter Auction:Plan to join us for Sheldon Christian School's annual Winter Auction Friday, February 24th. Geraldine Vander Meulen, wishes to THANK the Ocheyedan CRC congregation for the many cards sent her during the Holiday Season. The cards have been read many times. She loves each one and each one is saved to be read again and again. She also thanks those who remembered her with tokens of love: such as invitations to Celebrations and Holiday Festivities, flowers, candy, cherry tea, jewelry, scarves, gift certificates, and many other gifts of love from her church family. Guest Pastors Today– We welcome to our time of worship this morning, Dr. Jason Lief and to our time of worship this evening, Rev. Ron Lammers. Dr. Lief is currently teaching at Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa. He led us in worship a couple of times during Pastor Bill’s recovery a couple of years ago. Rev. Lammers is our associate pastor and serves the Asian-American Church of Bigelow, Minnesota. He has led us often in our times of worship. Welcome, brothers, back to Ocheyedan!
Baptism next week – With great thanks to God we look forward to witnessing the baptism of God’s precious gifts of loving grace to Dr. Rachel Wilcinot, Samuel ThomasWilcinot and EdenJohannaWilcinot in our service of worship next Sunday Morning, February 12, 2017. As we witness again God’s promises signed and sealed in the sacrament may each one of us be renewed in the assurance of those promises to us and be enfolded in the joy of the new community which God continues to be building in Jesus.
Pastor Bill and Marge at Conferences – Pastor Bill and Marge are currently in Port St. Lucy, Florida where Pastor Bill attended the Christian Reformed Church’s Stated Clerk’s Conference yesterday and will be attending the More and Better Conference – a learning experience provided by the Church Renewal Lab of Calvin Theological Seminary). They hope, D.V., to be flying home on Thursday of this week. Please keep Pastor Bill and Marge in prayer for safe travel and for informative and practically helpful gatherings.
Valentine’s Banquet- The Evangelism Committee will be once again hosting a banquet for the greater Ocheyedan area. The theme of this banquet is Valentine’s Day – celebrating God’s Love and His gift of Love. This year’s banquet will be held on Valentine’s Day Eve - Monday evening, February 13, 2017. The Banquet will begin with the punch bowl at 6:00 pm and dinner at 6:30 pm. Entertainment will be provided by “Four for Him” a Men’s Quartet from Sanborn, Iowa. Loving Assistance Requested – The Evangelism Committee will be setting up for the annual banquet for the greater Ocheyedan area on Sunday afternoon, February 12 from 1 pm to 3 pm. We will need the loving assistance of many willing hands to put up the ceiling lights; set up the tables and chairs, and to help with decorating the tables among other things. Please prayerfully consider joining us on Sunday afternoon, February 12 to help set up for this exciting event.
The Sanborn Christian School gym will be the location for a REFIT revolution onMonday, February 20from 7:15 to 8:15pm for a night of fitness fun! Check in at 6:45-7:00pm. You can preorder tickets for $5.00 with Laura Vander Meulen or pay $8.00 the night of the event. All girls and women welcome. This will be to raise money for the GEMS conference that will be held in July at Dordt College.
The Western Christian High School midyear Society meeting and parent-teacher conferences will be held on Thursday, February 23. Parent teacher conferences will begin at 5PM and the mid year Society meeting will be at 7 PM in the cafeteria.
