Overview

Children’s Healthy Smile Project is dedicated to improving the oral health of needy children through supply of dental hygiene products and age appropriate educational materials.

Accomplishments

Projects:

1.  CAPE Head Start: 480 Smile Kits, 2 I’M Safe Dental Education Kits, 66 Children’s Books, 8 Dental Health Education Kits, 8 sets Children Role Play sets (Total: $2,830)

2.  Fresno Migrant/Seasonal Head Start: 340 Pre-school Smile Kits, 11 I’M Safe Dental Education Kits, 100 ADA Booklets- Your Child’s Teeth in Spanish(Total: $3,414)

3.  Key West: 720 Toothbrushes-Title 1 Schools, 1800 Smile Kits, 120 coloring books, 18 children’s books, 1 Dental Health Education Kit (Total: $3,573)

4.  University of Alabama Dental School: 720 Smile Kits (Halloween on the Hilltop) (Total: $778)

5.  Southern Cross Dental: 144 Smile Kits, Dental Puppet (Total: $260)

6.  Assistance League of Amador Valley: 432 Smile Kits for Operation School Bell (Total: $419)

Grants and In-kind donations:

·  Pass the Smiles nonprofit: 1 grant $21,000.50.

·  RollGiving: 4 Grants totaling $3,000.00

·  Sales of donated pendants- $2,600.

·  Private Donor - $650.00

·  PEO Chapter XN -$200.00

·  Union Bank - $500.00

Volunteer Services:

·  The Director for Monroe County and continues her fundraising through the sale of pendants. Also, participated in numerous talks in the public schools and kit distribution to schools, homeless shelters, and child related organization.

·  Keys Art Glass donated approximately 400 pendants to be used in fundraising activities’

·  Keys Art Glass volunteers sold pendants during the Farmer’s Market, First Wednesday, and the Wine Stroll to raise $2,000.

·  The Treasurer maintained the charities books and filed tax returns.

·  Volunteers at the University of Alabama and Head Start Programs assembled & Distributed Head Smile Kits.

Administrative:

1.  Filed required tax returns with the State and Federal governments.

2.  Updated the registration with the California Attorney General’s Office.

3.  Filed Statement of Information for California.

4.  Obtained Tax Exempt Status in Colorado and Florida.

5.  Enrolled in Amazon Smiles Campaign.

6.  Obtained Guidestar Bronze designation.

7.  Renewed Pleasanton Business License

8.  Maintained website and Blog

9.  Secured two retail outlets in Key West for pendant sales

10.  Secured retail outlet in Pleasanton for pendant sales
