The Master Student Program is organized every year in K. K. Wagh Institute of Engineering Education and Research by ISTE student’s chapter since 2003 and this year it marked its 14th year of success. It was conducted on 23rd February 2017. This program is inspired by a manual called “Master Student” prepared by ISTE, New Delhi. The theme usually revolves around the development of technical and life skills that any engineering student needs to inculcate in his life.
The theme of this year’s Master Students Program was “Digital Engineers” introduced by Principal of the institute Dr. K. N. Nandurkar. In “digital India” mission, engineers plays vital role. To understand role of every engineer in this digital era this theme was introduced. The program focused on different aspects of digitization with respect to individual engineering stream. This theme is broadly classified into fourteen subtopics which were presented by fourteen students selected from various department of second year engineering as a speaker. They were mentored by a group of fourteen students from third year for a period of nearly two weeks. The speakers delivered a short presentation, each concentrating on the various facets of the given theme. 148 students participated in this event.
Dr. K. N. Nandurkar, Dr. S. N. Kadlag graced the event with their presence. The event was commenced by the lamp lightning ceremony. Prof. Prajakta Vispute briefed about the Master Students Program in welcome speech. Dr. K. N. Nandurkar briefed about the different activities conducted by this chapter and importance of participation in these activities in a student’s life. He also shared experiences of Alumni with reference to Master student program.
Hon. Prof. D. P. Nathe, Joint Director, Polytechnic, Nashik, Dr. K. N. Nandurkar, Principal, KKWIEER, Dr. P. K. Shahabadkar, T&P officer graced valedictory program by their presence. He explained the importance of basic knowledge of any subject and its use to understand the new technologies.
The program was conducted for the entire day and it provided an entire spectrum of topics which includes 14 different topics. It was aimed at helping not only the first year engineering students but the second, third and fourth year students to understand role of Digitization with respect to different Engineering streams. So, they can consider these factors for their great and successful future. ISTE New Delhi organized Ramanujan Mathematical competition chapter and National level certificates were also distributed in the valedictory function. , Mr. Saurabh Todi, president of ISTE Students’ Chapter, KKWIEER, presented vote of thanks.
The team of ISTE Students’ Chapter under the guidance of their Principal Dr.K.N.Nandurkar and faculty advisor Prof. Prajakta Vispute marked this year’s MSP as a remarkable and successful event.

“Vijigisha-17”- A state level elocution competition
Nashik: “Vijigisha” is a state level elocution competition organized by Indian Society for Technical Education Students’ Chapter of K.K.Wagh Institute of Engineering Education & Research. This year the event was conducted on 20th January 2017. It was conducted in two categories namely Marathi category and English category. The event was commenced by lamp lighting ceremony followed by felicitation of judges. The Chief coordinator Mr. Swanand Bedarkar represented the judges and briefed about the expectation as a judge from the participant. Principal Prof. Dr. K.N Nandurkar briefed about the different activities organized by ISTE students’ chapter and encouraged the students to participate in such activities to enhance their skills.
There were around 127 participants from all the regional colleges. There were 85 participants in English category and 42 in Marathi category. There were 10 judges for both the categories, 4 judges for Marathi and 6 judges for English. The judges for Marathi were Naresh Mahajan, Sadanand Joshi, Pankaj Kshamkalyan and Swanand Bedekar. The judges for English were Anant Yeolekar, Abhay Sadavarre, Saloni Chindhade, Yogita Bhamre, Dipti Shiledar and Neha Sharma.
Due to large number of participation this year the event had to be conducted in 5 different locations, 2 for Marathi and 3 for English. Each class had 2 judges and 3 committee members were also present with them. There were 2 rounds. Each participant had 5 minutes to speak in the first round on their selected topics. After the 1st round the judges were made to select the top contestants from each class these selected participants had to speak again in the 2nd round in front of all the judges. Later on, 5 winners were selected from each category.
The chief guest for the valedictory function was Mr. Vinayak Govilkar Senior Economist Nashik. He inspired the students and told them the difference between dream, wish and sankalp i.e. determination. He also encouraged the students to participate in various competitions. The prizes were distributed by the chief guest. The winners of English category were Shalaka Sonar, Ayman Shaikh, Ketan Gandhi, Saran Srivastava and Siddharth Sharma. The winners of the Marathi category were Shweta Bhambre, Vivek Chitte, Neha Rathi, Aditi Katti and Ajinkya Nikam. The vote of thanks was given by Vice President of ISTE Students’Chapter Miss. Anisha Nair.
The whole event was coordinated by Prof. Prajakta Vispute, Faculty advisor and the students of ISTE students’ Chapter.

Student Interaction with Padma Vibhushan Dr. Anil Kakodkar
Student interaction is organized by ISTE Students’ Chapter, KKWIEER on 24th December 2016. Around 100 students participated in this interaction. Dr. Kakodkar focused on recent developments and opportunities for students. He also share some of the experiences regarding the students and motivated the audience to work hard and work in the research field. He also answered questions by the students related to new technologies and inventions. Mr. Changdeorao Holkar, Trustee, KKWES, Prof. Dr. K. N. Nandurkar, Trustee and Principal and Prof. Dr. S. S. Sane, Trustee and HOD Computer Department were graced the occasion.

Guest lecture by Swanand Bedarkar on the occasion of “Vachak Prerana Din”
The birthday of Ex-President of India Late A. P. J. Abdul Kalam was celebrated as Reading Inspiration Day on 15th October, 2016. Shri. Swanand Bedarkar, a well known speaker and deputy editor of “Gavkari-A local news paper” was invited as speaker on this occasion. He delivered the lecture on the topic of “Inculcating the reading culture”. In his lucid flow of presentation, he emphasized the need of reading habits by quoting the advantages of reading indeveloping logical thinking, personality development and oratory development. Shri. Swanand Bedarkartook the review of reading culture in India since ancient era. He also, suggested the new modes of developingreading culture in the present era of digital revolution. He was introduced by Prof. Dr. Sunil Kute. The function was preceded by Principal K. N. Nandurkar and attended by students, faculty and staff.

The ISTE Students’ Chaptercommittee of K. K. Wagh Institute of Engineering Education and Research for the academic year 2016-17 was officially inaugurated in the presence of honourable chief guest Mr. Shrikant Karode, Principal Dr. K. N. Nandurkar, Training and Placement Officer P. K. Shahabadkar and faculty advisor of ISTE Students’ Chapter Prof. P. S. Vispute. The event was held on 27th of September and was attended by the first and second year students. There were approximately 70 students present.
Dr. Nandurkar expressed his views on ISTE Students’ Chapter and different activities conducted by the studet’s for the academic year complete year. Initially the ISTE committee of academic year 2015-16 was felicitated by Chief Guest. Following this, the winners of the Ramanujan Mathematics Competition were awarded. The Ramanujan Mathematics Competition is an annual event organized by ISTE Students’ Chapter which aims at finding the ingenious mathematicians hidden among not only students but also the teachers.
Mr. Shrikant Karode, the chief guest of the event, then enlightened the students on how you should increase the self confidence and grab the every opportunity that comes in the way. He held different post of CSI nashik chaper like vice president of CSI, Secretary and was awarded fellowship of CSI in 2009, the paramount part of the event began – felicitation of the current and the new ISTE Students’ Chapter committee. The President, Vice President, Secretary, Joint Secretary, Treasurer, Co-Treasurer and core members were felicitated by the chief guest.
The event was concluded with a vote of thanks by the ex-secretary of ISTE Students’ Chapter, Ashish Metkar.

In the light of India’s 70th Independence Day, a college level poster making competition was organized in K. K. Wagh Institute of Engineering Education and Research, Nashik by ISTE students’ chapter in collaboration with NSS.
A tribute was paid to our nation by the participants by making posters on the theme “India After Independence”. The competition was organized on 9thand 10thSeptember 2016 under the guidance of Dr. K. N. Nandurkar, Principal, K.K.W. I. E. E. R. this competition was open for all regular UG and PG students. Around 107 posters were received. Due to the overwhelming response, in addition to regular three prizes, additional two consolation prizes were also awarded by the committee.
The prize distribution ceremony was held on 10th Sept 2016. For this function chief guest Mr. Mandar Parashare, Head, Human Resources Department, Kirloskar, Nashik, Dr. Aniruddha Dharmadhikari, Shree Saibaba Heart Institute & Research Centre, Mr. Ajinkya Wagh with Dr. K. N. Nandurkar, Principal, K.K.W. I. E. E. R.,Prof. Prajakta Vispute, Faculty Advisor, ISTE students’ chapter and Prof. Nanasaheb Gurule, NSS Program Officer and were present. Mr. Mandar Parashare appreciated the concept and creativity of the participants and had an open interaction with all present for the function. The event also witnessed some valuable books being donated to the college library by Prof. Sunil Kute.
The posters were judged by Prof. Sunil Kute, Mr. Gokul Suryavanshi and Mr. Sanjay Durgawad. The prize winners were as follows:
