NEW LIFE TREATMENT CENTER 38th ANNUAL HORSE-RIDE-A-THON - The board and staff of New Life Treatment Center announce the Annual Horse Ride-a-Thon. Horses with riders and horse drawn rigs will begin their trek from Pipestone County Fairgrounds and proceed to their destination at the Center in Woodstock. The date is Saturday, May 20, 2017, beginning at 10:00 a.m. We held our first Horse Ride-A-Thon in 1980 and it continues to be a great opportunity for friends to meet and have fun together while raising funds for New Life! The Horse Ride-a-Thon has been greatly enjoyed by all who participate and attend. If any rider or buggy or wagon drivers would like to join the caravan, regardless of fund raising amounts, we welcome you to join. There is no "entry fee" or minimum amount that any person must raise, all riders are welcome. The proceeds for the Horse Ride-a-Thon will go towards furnishings and equipment in the men’s and women’s areas. Awards and prizes will be presented in recognition of various categories. Our Horse Ride-a-Thon will be concluded at the Center at approximately 1:30 pm with all participants enjoying a picnic lunch and T-shirts. Profession of Faith This Morning– With great joy and thanks to God our Father we look forward to hearing the public profession of faith during our morning service of worship this morning of Abigail Mulder! We thank God for the working of His Spirit in Abigail’s heart and are delighted to witness her statement of her faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior and her Lord.
Congregational Meeting Results– On Sunday, May 7, 2017, in our annual spring Congregational Meeting the Head and King of the Church, our Lord Jesus Christ called out from among us to serve as Elders for three year terms from June 1, 2017 through May 31, 2020 Mark Hibma and Loren Zevenbergen and to serve as Deacon for a three year term from June 1, 2017 through May 31, 2020 Michael Mulder. We look forward to witnessing the installation of these brothers to their respective offices in our morning service of worship on Sunday, June 04, 2017.
Special Gift Received - THE CROSSES ON THE MOUND – We thank God for some precious photographs we have received from area photographer John Schmidt. These are photographs of the Crosses on the Mound which our Cadets put up each year. One of these pictures was featured in the Ocheyedan Press. The pictures and the donation letter can be viewed on the bulletin board near the bulletins.

Elmer and Nelva Hatting wish to thank all those who attended our 50th wedding anniversary open house at the Lantern, those who gave cards and those who expressed verbal congratulations. The Western Christian High School Music Department will be performing their final concert of the year on Wednesday, May 17, at 7 PM in the Western Christian High School Event Center. Highlighting this concert will be performances by Concert Choir, Cantus, Orchestra, and Concert Band.
Western Christian High School will host its 95th commencement for 64 students on Tuesday, May 23 at 7:00 p.m. in the gymnasium. The graduation speaker will be Reverend Loren Kotman from the First Christian Reformed Church in Hull. Everyone is cordially invited to attend.
Ascension Day 2017 – With great joy we anticipate celebrating together the anniversary of the coronation of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the Son of God, as King of the Universe. The celebration will be held, D.V., on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 7:00 pm at Sibley Christian Reformed Church.
Legacy Foundation– At the council meeting held on Monday, May 1, 2017 the council agreed to pursue setting up a Legacy Foundation for our church to receive estate donations and other tax exempt donations.
