Cheer Factor All Star Program Rules
Parent/Athlete Code of Conduct
- If you have any questions or concerns that need immediate attention please use the following chain of command: 1. Team Mom 2. Head Coach 3. Allstar Director 4. Owner/President. We are here for YOU.
- The Cheer Factor Allstars maintain the right to refuse services at any time.
- Good sportsmanship, polite manners and a good disposition are mandatory at all practices and competitions.
- It is your responsibility to wear the appropriate practice wear to every practice.
- Any additional clothing items(sweats, long pants, etc.), cell phones, school bags, or gym bags ,that are brought into the gym are your responsibility to keep track of. Cell phones must be turned off when practice starts.
- No GOSSIP about any other team (all star or school). No GOSSIP about a child on your team or another team. No GOSSIP about coaches and staff. It is much better to address a problem than to listen to idle gossip.
- No profanity or abusive language.
- Please keep in mind the gym is not a babysitting service. We want our allstars to use the gym as often as possible, but no child should be dropped off at the gym unsupervised.
- You must arrive at all practices, competitions or any scheduled event on time. Punctuality is a MUST.
- During practice your opinion does not count. All squad and routine decisions are left to the discretion of the coaches.
- Please feel free to speak to your coach about anything; just remember to do it at the appropriate times. For example, approaching a coach in the middle of practice would not be an appropriate time.
- Never post any negative comments on social media.
- Practices may be changed and/or added throughout the season.
- Anyone threatening to quit or pull his/her child from a team will be dismissed from the program immediately.
- Please do not take valuables to the gym; we are not responsible for unattended items.
- Only cheerleaders and coaches allowed in the gym. Parents or visitors may use the Parent “stands” during the last 15 minutes of practice.
- No one is allowed to yell on to the floor or speak to any team member or coach while practice is in session. This is extremely distracting to all involved.
- The coaches reserve the right to close practice at any time. In this event, the team rep will remain at practices.
- It is the parent’s responsibility to know what is going on with your squad at all times. Check emails, texts and the website regularly.
- Practices and competitions are not to be used as punishment for your child’s actions outside of the gym.
- Athletes should be able to handle school work and All star practices, homework is not an acceptable excuse for missing practice.
- We will do our best to work with your extracurricular activity at school. However, if your extracurricular coach refuses to work with our mandatory practices or competitions, you will have to choose which activity you will continue.
- Parents, relatives, friends and athletes are not allowed to speak with competition officials for any reason.
- Parents are never allowed to represent Cheer Factor under any circumstances concerning accommodations, competitions or in any situation.
- There will be no arguing or questioning the coaching staff’s decisions at competitions.
- If a problem arises between you and a teammate or another parent, the problem will be addressed with all parties involved at a meeting with your coach and the All Star Director.
- Anonymous emails/letters/texts/twitters, etc will be ignored.
- The All Star Director may change, add or subtract any rule at any time.
Tardiness
- You are considered tardy to practice if you are not on the floor ready when your practice BEGINS. This means; appropriate practice wear on, shoes on and tied, hair up, snacks and drinks taken care of, ready to go.
Absences
- All Star cheerleading and dance is the equivalent of a “travel” baseball/softball team or an “allstar” volleyball or soccer team. We expect %100 dedication to your team. That means attendance is mandatory. You are permitted to miss 4 practices from June 1st to August 31st and 4 more practices from September 1st through May 31st. This is a NO FAULT policy – it’s not your fault if you have to miss a practice and it’s not our fault if you miss more than 4. You will be asked to leave the team if you have more than 4 practices missed.
There are precious few hours that we have these teams together, every moment must be used. It is extremely important you get to practice on time and try not to miss. Excessive tardiness or absences will result in dismissal from your team. If you are tardy or absent from a competition you will be immediately dismissed. Also, you must attend practice if you are sick and NOT contagious, let your coach know what is going on, but your presence will be needed at every practice. No absences will be allowed during the week leading up to a competition (no exceptions). If a practice before a competition is missed, you will not be permitted to compete with your team for that particular competition, however, you must go and support your team. We cannot stress how important attendance is, there is choreography, stunting, formations, etc. taught at every practice. If you miss that information, you hold the entire team back.
Injuries and Conditioning
- Parents need to note that cheerleading is a highly competitive and dangerous sport. The stunts and tumbling could lead to injuries. These include but are not limited to bruises, pulled or strained muscles, torn or strained ligaments, broken bones, dislocations, paralysis or even death. We at Cheer Factor, take every precaution to limit these injuries. Unfortunately, we cannot prevent them all. In the event that your child is injured, we will take every necessary step to ensure your child’s well being.
- All Star cheerleading and hip hop are very strenuous activities. Therefore, all of the athletes in our program are expected to be in top physical condition. This includes flexibility, strength and endurance. If needed, you may be required to take an additional tumbling class or a stretch/stunt class. All extra classes will be billed to your Cheer Factor account.
- All team members are expected to care for their bodies. This means absolutely NO DRUGS, NO ALCOHOL AND NO TOBACCO. If anyone is caught drinking, smoking or using drugs or if there is an eating disorder they will be expected to take the necessary steps to quit and/or receive help. We will, of course, help in any way we can.
Travel
- Each cheerleader must have a chaperone at every competition. It is not your coach, Team Rep, or Cheer Factor staff’s responsibility to be your child’s chaperone.
- It is your responsibility to pay the hotel directly for your room.
- Bus service may be provided at out of town competitions. The cost of the bus is an additional fee that will be paid by each athlete. (Note: The buses run between hotels and competition site only.)
- Proper travel attire will be discussed with each team prior to an out of town competition.
Dress Code
- If your child is a flyer or is taking a stretch or stunt class, they should always wear spankies under a regular pair of shorts.
- NO JEWELRY AT ALL! Wearing jewelry of any kind could result in an injury to your child or to another child.
- Fingernails need to be kept short, please no fake fingernails.
Competition Dress Code
- Under no circumstances are you allowed to wear jewelry at any time during the competition day. This could result in your team being disqualified.
- All hair and makeup must be complete before entering the competition venue. No rollers or inappropriate attire.
- If you are not competing or have been dismissed from your team obligations, you may wear your warm up pants, a Cheer Factor t-shirt and sneakers. You are still representing the Cheer Factor All Stars and must present yourself in such a way.
Apparel
- All Cheer Factor logos and brands are protected.
- All spirit wear items are to be purchased through CFA.
- If a sponsor wants to buy an item for the entire team; that order must go through the Allstar Director. If sponsors simply donate the money, they coaches will decide what is purchased.
- All spirit items must be approved by CFA, coaches have sole authority on apparel designs.
- Anyone that attempts to sell or give away items with CFA logos or likenesses will be in violation of our policy.
FAQ’S
- Q: How much does it cost?
- A: All Star tuition is paid monthly and is determined by what team your child is on. All costs are detailed in the Payment Option page. You can expect to pay about $700 - 900 into your CFBC account. That does not include travel or uniform expenses.
- Q: When can my child move up another level?
- A: We reserve the right to move a child at any given time.
- Q: How do you select teams?
- A: We select teams to be the most competitive in that particular division.
- Q: Can my daughter fly?
- A: If the coach feels that your daughter should fly, she will.
- Q: Why did my daughter lose her “spot” in the routine?
- A: There are no assigned “spots”. Adjustments are constantly made to routines. We will adjust formations as needed for the flow and choreography of the routine.
- Q: Does the roster change for Nationals teams?
- A: The teams attending Nationals will be the best of the best we have to offer. This means, there may be some roster changes. The coaches reserve the right to replace the athlete that has lost a certain skill that put them on the team originally. Also, if there are monies outstanding to either Cheer Factor Inc. or the CFBC, that athlete may be removed from their team.
All teams will have a very informative meeting during their first week of practice. This meeting will go over the coach’s expectations of your new team. Please make plans to attend this meeting.
Thank you for choosing to become part of our program. Our hope is that this is a wonderful experience for your entire family. However, we do know life gets in the way sometimes and we want you to know up front some ways that your child’s spot may be in jeopardy on their team: delinquent accounts, loss of skills/abilities, excessive absences/tardiness, poor attitude or injuries. If an injured athlete is replaced in a routine, they may or may not be worked back in the routine, this will be up to the coach. As always, if you have any questions feel free to contact us.
