Please complete the following checklist and forward with the copies of the requested documentation to Human Resources (HR) with the Request to Appoint or as soon as possible thereafter.

English Language Skills - this can be achieve by providing one of the three following documents
Evidence that the migrant is from a majority English Speaking Country / Copy of passport (including front page, photo page and any relevant visa’s)
Evidence of the English Language Test / Copy of test certificate
Evidence that his/her degree was taught in English / Copy of degree certificate
Maintenance requirement / Copy of 3 months of bank statements (showing personal savings of £800)
Will any dependants accompany the applicant? / Yes/No
If yes how many:
The migrant will have to provide original certificates/documents to the Border Agency when applying for their entry clearance/leave to remain in the UK.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Human Resources will apply for the Certificate of Sponsorship when they are satisfied that a fair recruitment process has taken place and that the identified candidate will be able to meet the requirements to obtain entry clearance/leave to remain with the Points Based Immigration System.
As a Sponsor of a migrant the University will play two main roles in the application process
- It will need to provide evidence that the migrant will fill a genuine vacancy in the UK that cannot be filled by a suitably qualified or skilled settled worker.
- It involves a pledge from the University that it will accept the duties of sponsoring a migrant
Recruiting managers of migrants are reminded that they must fulfil certain duties in order to comply with the Immigration, Nationality and Asylum Act 2006.
Recruiting manager MUST inform HR as soon as possible if:
- The migrant does not attend the University on their stated first day of work.
- The migrant has unauthorised absence from work at any point.
- The migrant resigns from their position prior to the termination date.
