SOME POINTS TO REMEMBER

1.  English language must be spoken in all public areas and working areas.

2.  Smile, greet, be courteous, polite and professional to everyone you meet at all times.

3.  Do not speak vulgar or foul language. Do not shout, swear or make racist remarks.

4.  Do not use passenger facilities like Public Toilets and Elevators.

5.  Do not loiter in the passenger areas.

6.  Crew are not permitted on the accommodation floors at any time unless their job dictates, they are passengers of the ship (i.e. have registered as a guest and have the permission of the Hotel Manager), or they have the written permission of the Hotel Manager or his delegate.

7.  Crew are not permitted in the guests’ outlets (Restaurants, Bars and other Guest Services outlets) unless they are granted the privilege to patronize the facilities.

8.  Do not smoke in bed, or in areas that are not designated for smoking.

9.  Never wear your uniform when going ashore, unless you have a shore duty. Dress smart casual and no flip flops or singlets. Even while you are ashore, remember that you are representing the Company so please behave accordingly.

10.  Ensure that you know the ship’s sailing time and remember to report back to the ship before the shore leave time expires. Check the shore leave period at the gangway before going ashore.

11.  Daily habits or personal hygiene and grooming are to be practiced religiously. Make it a habit to take a shower everyday and always apply deodorant or anti-perspirant.

12.  There are ship rules on consumption of alcoholic drinks onboard and that they should be understood and strictly observed.

13.  Punctuality is very important for the efficient operation of the ship as it avoids putting extra work on fellow crew and legal liability to the Company. This is true on joining the vessel at the time appointed, returning from shore leave and reporting for work.

14.  No pornographic materials, deadly weapons, alcohol, and raw food are allowed to be brought onboard. Medicinal drugs must have a prescription from the Doctor.

15.  Do not bring candles, flat iron, and personal kettle or alike as these will only be confiscated upon sign-on.
