What a busy time! Are you stretched beyond stretching! Holiday times are always a hustle, bustle time. Programs here, programs there, company parties, Sunday school parties, shopping, more shopping--- wow more shopping. Plus working! Need time to spend with the spouse, kids, grandkids and friends. Where is the strength?

I have talked to more singles or even married couples that are really going through some lonely times and trials during the Holiday’s. Can we just take a little time and think of some small way that we can bless others that are lonely, maybe even bedridden and spread a little joy their way? It takes so little to make someone blessed. Even a card, cookies- just use your God given talent and come up with something!

I like to sing songs that minister. I’ve been preparing a new song to sing. It is entitled “His Strength is Perfect.” What an awesome song. The words are as followes-1st verse- I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength, but sometimes I wonder what He can do through me. No great success to show, no glory of my own, yet in my weakness He is there to let me know. 2nd verse- We can only know the power that He holds, when we truly see how deep our weakness goes, His strength in us begins when ours comes to an end, He bears our humble cry and proves again. (Chorus) His strength is perfect when our strength is gone, He’ll carry us when we can’t carry on, Raised in His power, the weak become strong, His strength is perfect, His strength is perfect.

His strength is perfect! Isn’t that so true? How many times in my life and I’m sure in yours have you gotten to the end of your strength or rope, and there He is with His arms open wide. Why did we wait so long? I’m not sure! I’m trying to rely on Him first. It works.

Exodus 15: 2 says "The Lord is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation. Psalms 37:39 says "But the salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; He is their strength in time of trouble."

Isaiah 40:29 tells us "He gives strength to the weary." Psalms 46:1 tells us that "God is our refuge and strength, A very pleasant help in trouble." Psalms 28:7 says "the Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him and I am helped."

Jeremiah 16:19 says "Lord, my strength and my fortress. My refuge in the day of affliction." The word strength comes from the word oz (noun) which means to be firm and strong -- Oz shows up over 100 times in the Old Testament so the strength of the Lord must be an important factor in our lives.

In this time of buzzing around, let’s not forget the real gift that was given that night in Bethlehem. May Jesus be the reason for your season! God bless your Holidays!
