For Action:

GSMI and Medical Questionnaire / Complete both forms and return them to the Jericho Health Centre (the address is given on the questionnaire). The GSM1 Form and Medical Questionnaire can both be accessed from the Medical section of the Freshers’ Website.
A letter of introduction from the College Nurse can also be downloaded from the same section.
Please note that freshers are required to bring with them to Oxford a thermometer and paracetamol.
Please ensure that you complete the following Medical Registration and Contact Details questionnaire:
Vaccination Letter / Please ensure that you have read the poster regarding vaccinations and arranged to receive all required. The information regarding which vaccines are required can be viewed on the Medical section of the Freshers’ Website.
Contact Details Survey / Please make sure that you complete the following questionnaire in advance of September:
Passport Photo / Please make sure you have returned two passport photos to the Admissions Officer at Merton College. Your name and subject should be written on the back of each photo. If you have a photo digitally available also it would be much appreciated if you could email a copy to .
University and College Contracts / University and College contracts will be issued with final offer letters to those who have satisfied the conditions attached to their original offers. Please return both the University and College Contracts to the Admissions Officer, Julie Gerhardi ().
Disclosure of Disability / Confidentiality and Disclosure Forms are available to download from the Disability section of the Freshers’ Website.
If you have a disability or health problem and have not already disclosed it to the College then please do complete and return a form at the earliest opportunity. If you have any questions relating to disability or special needs then please contact the Disability Co-ordinator, Victoria Lill ().
Reading Lists / Please ensure that you visit the reading list check list on the section unoriginally called Reading Lists Check List’ on the Freshers’ Website. This gives information regarding which subjects will be issuing work to be completed over the summer.
Matriculation Dinner Invitation / Please complete the following survey to provide details required for the planning of the Undergraduate Matriculation Dinner:

User IDs for Registration / You will be emailed via OUCS (Oxford University Computing Service) a User ID and logon details for the Student Self-Service website ( Please, in advance of your arrival in Oxford, logon to the online registration self service site using the user ID and password provided to register. Please note that you will not be able to logon on until your University Contract has been returned and processed.
Plagiarism / In advance of arrival please ensure you have read the following guidance on plagiarism:
Gowns and
Sub Fusc / Please make sure that you have an academic gown and sub fusc in time for the Matriculation Ceremony on 15th October. Details of what is required for sub fusc can be found in the ‘Matriculation Information’ section of the Freshers’ Website.
Order forms for academic gowns can be downloaded from the Academic Gowns section of the Freshers’ Website.
Telephones / Please note that each student room has a landline installed from which you can make internal calls for free. It is strongly recommended that you bring a handset as they are not provided.

JCR Welfare Guide / This guide has been helpfully produced by the JCR and provides details of all welfare facilities available to students. It can be found in the ‘JCR Welfare Guide’ section of the Freshers’ Website.
JCR Entz Guide / This guide has been produced by the JCR and provides details of all entertainment and events provided by the JCR in the coming year. It can be found in the ‘JCR Entz Guide’ section of the Freshers’ Website.
JCR Freshers’ Guides / This is a comprehensive guide which has been put together by the JCR and aims to cover a lot of questions you might have in advance of coming up. Highly recommended reading. It can be viewed in the ‘JCR Freshers’ Guide’ section of the Freshers’ Website.
Freshers’ Week Programme / The schedule of all social events and compulsory meetings can be viewed in the ‘Freshers’ Week Timetable’ section of the Freshers’ Website.
Student Financial Guide / This guide is produced jointly by the University and College and provides useful financial information relevant to undergraduates. It can be found in the ‘Financial Guide for Undergraduates’ section of the Freshers’ Website.
Merton Boat Club / Information for prospective members of Merton Boat Club can found in the ‘Merton Boat Club’ section of the Freshers’ Website.
IT / The Merton IT Booklet and Network Registration form can be accessed in the ‘IT Booklet’ section of the Freshers’ Website.
The IT Booklet contains information concerning network connection setups, common connection problems and other subjects. The Network Registration Form is required to register personal laptops to the Merton Network.
Matriculation
Information / All undergraduate freshers will be required to attend a matriculation ceremony on the morning of 15th October. Notes from the Dean regarding the Matriculation Ceremony can be found in the ‘Matriculation Information’ section of the Freshers’ Website.

Orientation and
Meet & Greet / In advance of term please note the information provided by the University regarding Orientation Programmes and the Meet & Greet service which can be accessed here: t and here: respectively.
Passport / Please note that International Freshers will be required to bring their passports to the scheduled registration with the Tutorial Office session (see ‘Freshers’ Week timetable’ section of Freshers’ Website) for scanning. Please ensure you bring your passport with you to this session.

Registering with the Police / Some (non-EEA) nationals are legally required to register with the Police within 7 days of arrival into the UK. For further information about whether you will need to, and if so what is involved, please see the information provided in the International Students’ section of the Freshers’ Website.
Setting up a UK Bank Account / It is important to set up a UK bank account. Information on how to do so can be found in the International Students’ section of the Freshers’ Website.
Pre-sessional English courses / Information on pres-sessional courses in English run by the Oxford University Language Centre can be found here: Please note, if you would like to enroll on a pre-sessional English course and require accommodation then please notify the Admissions Officer at the earliest opportunity.
Visas / For information regarding applying for a visa please see Visas can take a long time to come through and so, if one is required, please apply at the earliest opportunity to allow plenty of time for your application to be processed.
