Chatham Soccer League Board Meeting Minutes
June 15, 2009
Old Business:
1)Roll Call – FrankFitzgerald, Greg Darden, Jennifer Castro, Erik Berg, Mark Webster and Al Devine.
2)Approve Agenda – added PortaJohn. Agenda approved.
3)Approve Minutes – April 20th, 2009 Meeting (no board meeting held in May 2009) – Minutes approved.
4)Treasurer Report
a)Budget Approval – BudgetApproved.
b)Change in Financial Reporting – classification of income and expenses-see Financial Reports.
c)Bank accounts – review CD status and business checking account- CD matures next week. Greg to research a new bank for sponsorship.
5)Purchasing Report – Scoremade some generous offers to upgrade quality of uniforms. Coaches will get free shirt to match team uniform, board get shirts, 75 free uniforms each year to cover scholarship uniforms.
6)Registrar Report –CampI –10forms, and Camp II – 6forms. Academy Soccer – 31 forms. Recreation Forms about 75. Challenge Forms- waiting for coaches to hand them in to Frank. Jennifer has been recertified for NCYSA Registrar and online registration certified. However, NCYSA has removed Fox Pro Software and will no longer use it. NCYSA will go to online registration in Fall for Challenge and Classic. Rec registration will be mandatory online for Spring 2010.
7)Fields Report – Eriksent out Field Report to Board for review. School contracts for field use will renew every 90 days instead of annually. Blackout dates- July 27-July 31st at CM, PES June 22-June 26, July 13-July and July Camps. Work orders need to be done for the school fields. Field maintenance – Jameshas NC, Jorge has PES, Erik has PHS, Lex has Northwood and James will contact CM.
8)Coaching Report – Frankstates we have enough Challenge Coaches for the Fall teams. Academy Soccer – haveeight coaches. We need to find recreation coaches!
9)Referee Report –noreport.
10)Calendar Review–on website.
New Business:
1)Sponsorships – Score –75 free uniforms for scholarship players, Carolina Railhawks- provided 50 passes that we can sell and retain the funds, NCYSA – maybe able to waive fees (Executive Committee to discuss the options), Chatham Marketplace – 1%Monday sales if we set up table for $250 (volunteer needed to coordinate this event), Abundance Foundation and Piedmont Biofuels have donated funds, San Felipe–is a possible suggestion, City Tap is unable to do it at this time, Carolina Brewery is considering options, Shakori may trade for time, and need to seek more sponsorships.
2)Logo design – reviewedlogos and selected shield from Score.
3)PortaJohn – Bruce was cheaper than Chatham Portables. Greg will solicit bids for Fall. Need PortaJohns in place by August 31st.
