1ABOUT THIS appendix

(a)This appendix sets out the charges for national calls and calls to mobile phones.

(b)The meaning of the words printed like this is set out at the end of the service description for the relevant service or in the consumer termsor SMB terms(as applicable to you).

(c)This Appendix E only applies to you where the standard pricing tablefor the Optus Long Distance Service tells you that we will charge you for national long distance calls and calls to mobile phones in accordance with this Appendix E.

(d)You should look at the terms of the Optus Long Distance Service standard pricing table to clarify whether this Appendix applies and how it applies to you, or you may contact us to confirm if this Appendix applies to you

2charges – general information

(a)All national calls (this excludes fixed charge calls) and calls to mobile phones (digital, but not satellite ie MobileSat or Optus Thuraya, connected to an Australian mobile network), unless specified otherwise, incur a call connection fee (as specified in the relevant pricing table) and additional charges (see below) based on the time and day of the call (see Charging Periods below).

(b)Charging commences at the time a connection is established and stops when a call is terminated.

(c)For the period on and from 27 November 2011, calls are charged in one minute intervals. Each call includes the call connection fee(unless specified otherwise), plus the charge per minute multiplied by the duration of the call and rounded up to the cent. The charge rates per minute for each call type are listed below.

(d)For the period between 18 July 2010 and 27 November 2011 calls were charged in 30 second intervals. Each call includes the call connection fee(unless specified otherwise), plus the charge per second multiplied by the duration of the call and rounded up to the nearest 30 second interval and cent. The charge rates per second for each call type and time period are listed below.

(e)For the period prior to 18 July 2010, calls were charged per second. Each call included the call connection fee(unless specified otherwise), plus the charge per second multiplied by the duration of the call and rounded up to the nearest second and cent. The charge rates per second for each call type and time period are listed below.

(f)For the purpose of determining the time at which a call is placed, the time used is the local time in the state to which the local exchange’s Charging Zone has been allocated. This will not necessarily be the local time at the place at which the calling party is located. The total call is charged in the time category current when the call is established.

(g)Where the charge for a call is distance based, the distance calculated is between the Charging Points of the Charging Zones where the call originates and terminates (unless specified otherwise). The location of each Zone's Charging Point is available inAppendix A. Calls between: Redcliffe and Caloundra; Cleveland and Southport; and Beenleigh and Southport, will be charged as though the distance of the call is over 50km not the distance as calculated between the Charge Points. Intercapital (InterCity) calls are calls between cities defined in Appendix Cwith distances calculated according toAppendix C.
