Character Assertion Paragraphs

Your paragraph must contain:

Assertion: first line of the paragraph

Your assertion is an inference developed into a complete sentence. It is the thesis statement of your paragraph.

Evidence (Quote): second sentence

Evidence developed into a sentence using parenthetical documentation and a lead-in.

Commentary 1: third sentence

Your commentary explains how the evidence supports your assertion.

Evidence 2 (Quote): fourth sentence

Evidence developed into a sentence using parenthetical documentation and a lead-in.

Commentary 2: fifth sentence

Your commentary explains how the evidence supports your assertion.

Concluding sentence: last sentence

Restate your assertion, but do not repeat yourself!
