Programme Outline

The Visiting Hong Kong Series aims at exposing students to English used outside the classroom and to things and places where visitors to Hong Kong frequently do or go to. In this programme, students are provided with an opportunity to practise taking orders and ordering food and drinks in different situations.

The story starts with Peter and his sister, Anna welcoming their cousin Mandy and her husband, Sam to Hong Kong. For lunch, Peter and Anna take Mandy and Sam to a dim sum restaurant. For afternoon tea, they go to a hotel to try out a traditional afternoon tea set. In the evening they are on board an evening cruise to see Hong Kong’s fantastic harbour view. Would you like to join them?

To wrap up the programme, there are learning activities in which students participate in taking orders from tourists in a Chinese restaurant.
