CHAMPION RYLA – Rotary District 3190

·  The Champion RYLA program emphasizes leadership, citizenship, and personal growth, and aims to demonstrate Rotary's respect and concern for youth.

·  The Champion RYLA core curriculum is based on experiential learning, learning by direct experience rather than through instruction alone, some of the topics included fundamentals of Leadership, Importance of Communication skills, Team building, Attitude and building self-confidence among the students to achieve their dreams.

Pick 6 volunteers and 5 of them will go out of the classroom. One of them will remain.
The first person reads the Meena story and tells the same story to the second person and the second person will hear and relay the story to the third person and so on and finally the last person will narrate the story.
Moral of the story – The content of the story dissipates due to lack of listening.
Activity 3 – Active Listening Time Needed: 15 minutes

During each round the listener should use active listening skills. Restating the content of the message, with the feelings of the talker. So the key to active listening is to really listen what the others are saying and not projecting one’s own thoughts and feelings in to the message. The observer in each round should provide feedback

Team Work

Activity / Activity 7 – Titanic sinking Team Work activity - Time Needed: 20 minutes
Draw a square of 4 feet by 4 feet with a chalk, representing part of Titanic ship which is sinking.
Divide into 4 equal squares of 2 feet by 2 feet. If there is no space in the class room, draw the square in the corridor.

·  Separate the students into boys and girls
·  Make teams of 6 each, i.e. 4 teams pick a captain for the crew
·  Under the guidance of the captain, All the 6 crew members should be accommodated within the four squares
·  Once this is done, one square is sunk, i.e. by rubbing any two sides will reduce 4 squares to 3.
·  The 6 crew members from the sunk square should be accommodated in the remaining 3 squares.
·  The ship successively continues to sink until only one square is left, within which all the 6 crew members of all four teams should be accommodated to save them.
·  The captain who manages to save maximum number of his/her crew members is the winner.

Answer: The old lady of course! After helping the old lady into the car, you can give your keys to your friend, and wait with your perfect partner for the bus
Q2:. Acting on an anonymous phone call, the police raid a house to arrest a suspected murderer. They don't know what he looks like but they know his name is John and that he is inside the house. The police bust in on a carpenter, a lorry driver, a mechanic and a fireman all playing poker. Without hesitation or communication of any kind, they immediately arrest the fireman. How do they know they've got their man?
Answer: The fireman is the only man in the room. The rest of the poker players are women.
