Forms of data collection

Video recordings of speaker presentations and group feedback

We will video record speaker presentations and feedback/comments made after group discussions or activities. This will include all seminars and the final Seminar Series conference. Video recordings of presentations and discussion feedback will be stored on the Seminar Series website (). This will not include any recording of group work or group discussions.

Seminar evaluation feedback

Feedback on each seminar will be collected from participants. This will inform future seminar activities and initiatives, and in reports to the ERSC. This will be collected through an evaluation form at the end of each seminar. We will also use informal methods throughout each seminar to collect feedback, such as the use of post-it notes, questions included in group discussion activities and captured on flipcharts and making notes of verbal feedback offered by participants to Seminar Series co-investigators. Feedback forms and data will be processed by a member of the research team.

Social media

As part of the impact strategy Twitter and Facebook accounts will be established and used to advertise the Seminar Series, distribute headline information about the Seminar Series and share key insights as the Series progresses. Key academic and practitioner participants will be invited to add content on their thoughts and own activities as a consequence of participation in the Series.

Website/blog

A website will be established by Durham University Business School. This will be the main public portal for the Seminar Series. The website will be updated regularly with the forthcoming seminars, host the video recordings of past seminar series, and links to academic and practitioner publications and activities related to the Seminar Series. We will add Twitter and Facebook buttons, and embed Twitter and Facebook timelines to the site. Part of the site will include a Seminar Series blog where participants will be encouraged to add content relating to their involvement and subsequent impact activities. This will be filtered through Durham University to ensure content is appropriate. Individuals are responsible for posting their own content to Twitter and Facebook and any relationship to their own institution/organisation for all materials offered for the Seminar Series website, and posted to Twitter and Facebook.

Photography

Seminar series co-investigators will take photographs of presentations, plenary sessions and group activities. Where possible, professional photographers will be used. Photographs will be used in the following ways: in Seminar Series promotional materials, added to the Seminar Series website and blog, Twitter, and Facebook.

Ethical approval for the research has been granted by each of the four participating institutions.
