About “The Chalfont Heights Riding Club Dressage Challenge” – There are now 4 Dressage Challenge Shields to be won, Intro, Prelim, Novice & Elementary. Members will get points when they are placed in each class, 6 points for 1st, 5 points for 2nd etc down to 1 point for 6th. The points will be updated and put on our web site after each show and published in the newsletter. The shields will be presented at the Club AGM later in the year with amazing rosettes from 1st to 6th place in the challenge

Wendover Heights Equine CT Rider Winter Dressage Championships 2017

INTRO

Neither horse nor rider to have competed BD Affiliated Dressage by the date of the championships as a full competing, music, eventers BD, RC BD, PC BD, Team Quest, My Quest or Veteran BD member. They must not have won a prelim class before the date of qualification. Qualifying classes can be BD Intro A or B. The best Junior also qualifies as long as 60% is achieved (14 years and under by the date of the championships) Horses/ponies of any height

PRELIMINARY RESTRICTED

Section a) Neither horse nor rider to have competed BD Affiliated Dressage by the date of the championships as a full competing member, music, eventers BD, RC BD, PC BD, Team Quest, My Quest or Veteran BD member. Section b) Either equine or rider may have competed BD as a full competing member but not together but the horse must not have more than 50 BD points at prelim level and/or 15 points at novice level. Horse and rider combinations may have competed in the following categories: music BD, eventers BD, RC BD, PC BD, Team Quest, My Quest and Veteran BD member but the horse must not have more than 50 BD points at prelim level and/or 15 points at novice level.

The best Junior also qualifies as long as 60% is achieved (14 years and under by the date of the championships) Horses/ponies of any height. The Juniors will be combined from section a) and b) above at the finals to make their own class.

Equine and rider combinations who have been placed in the top three in the Open section at previous CTR championships, must continue to compete in the open section.

Please note: Horse and Rider combinations are not allowed to enter both the Restricted and Open sections at the final.

ELEMENTARY

Elementary Open -Open to all

Restrictions apply to the date of the final, not the date of qualification. If a horse and rider qualifies at a lower level and then competes out of the class restrictions, they must enter a class that they are eligible for at the final.

Who Qualifies?

1st and 2nd place in each section of each class qualifies. At least 60% must be achieved by all qualifiers. If the winner and second placed have already qualified, the qualification goes down the line to the next best tests but those tests must be at least 60%. If there are most than 10 entries in the class, 1st 2nd and 3rd qualify. *The Best Junior also qualifies but the junior must achieve 60%

Please note:

It is the horse and rider combination that qualifies. No horse or rider substitutions will be allowed at the final.Horses and ponies may be ridden by two riders on the day but both riders must be CTR members and only consecutive classes may be entered eg. prelim and novice. No horse may enter more than three classes at the championships.

Chalfont Heights Riding Club RULES AND CONDITIONS

  1. The competition is run under British Dressage rules
  2. A PONY is defined as 15hh and below, a HORSE is defined as exceeding 15hh.
  3. STALLIONS must be handled and ridden by persons 18 years and above, and identified with a white ribbon in the tail.
  4. ROSETTES to 6th place in each section.
  5. ENTRIES will close prior to the closing date if full. PRIORITY entry will be provided to club members where possible.
  6. HORSES & PONIES must be 4 years and above to enter, and only those entered to be brought onto the showground.
  7. HEALTH & SAFETY The Organisers of this event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the Health & Safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and obey the instructions of the Organiser and all Officials and Stewards.
  8. LIABILITY The Owners/Organisers will not accept any responsibility for any accident injury illness or loss of property howsoever caused.
  9. HARD HATS to BSI standard PAS 015 –En 1384 or ASTM F1163 must be worn at all times whilst mounted with harness in place.
  10. CORRECT FOOTWEAR must be worn when mounted.
  11. DOGS must be kept on leads at all times
  12. CHILDREN & PUSHCHAIRS must be kept away from practice areas and collecting rings.
  13. VACCINATION CERTIFICATES It is expected that all equines brought onto the showground have current vaccination certificates for equine influenza.
  14. REFUNDS for entry fees only refunded on production of a valid vet or doctor’s certificate.
  15. OBJECTIONS must be made in writing within 15 minutes of the end of the class with a £10.00 deposit, which will be forfeit if the objection is over-ruled.
  16. RESERVATION The organisers reserve the right to cancel any class if deemed necessary and to refuse an entry without having to state the reason.
  17. LITTER must be taken home, and horse-boxes must not be mucked out on the premises.
  18. FOUL Language and abusive behaviour will not be tolerated.
  19. The Judge’s decision is FINAL.
  20. Times will be emailed and put on the web site Thursday before each competition
