Softball: Andy, Tony and Harry are working on getting the softball program together this year, and are all set. The letters will be going out soon. Chris asked about possibly putting flyers around town, which would be fine. We usually have a good turnout, about 130 men and 30 women. Bring the stuffed envelopes to the next meeting, and Joanne will bring them to town hall for mailing.

Fishing Contest: Ward will Chair; Terry and Lori will Co-Chair. Please start planning for this event and discuss at the next meeting.

Sponsors for shirts are permitted. Players must be Mahwah residents, 18 years of age, or above. First-time players need to show ID, as is required in softball. Dawn will check with Nancy to confirm the field. A motion was made by Terry Mostyn, seconded by Nic Giancaspro, to proceed with the outdoor soccer proposal. All in favor, motion carried.

Recreation Director’s Report

Dawn left deposit slips at the Rec Office. Once a week, deposits should be left for Dawn to deposit at town hall. The back of the checks need to be stamped.

Continental Soldiers Field was closed on Tuesday, and will remain closed through mid-May. The turf will be removed and replaced. There is no lead on the field, but it is shedding. The new field is the same being used at Giants stadium. The facility will be open, but not the field.

General Comments

Tony knows of an Irish step group that would like to perform on Mahwah Day for free. Dawn asked Tony for the name and address so she can mail them the Mahwah Day information.

On a motion by Julia Smith, seconded by Tony LoRe, the meeting was adjourned at 9:15 p.m. All in favor, motion carried.
