  3. Semi-Formal Dance- the grads will be discussing the idea of hosting a semi-formal dance for either just Vanier or all of the high schools sometime in the next few weeks. Student Grad Coordinators are “on it”.
  4. Yukon Order of Pioneers Serving opportunity- Again at the CYO Hall on Friday December 11th an opportunity to earn $500 for the grad. Expectation that grads (6-8) plus one parent coordinator would be at CYO Hall at 4pm to set up tables and chairs, help to put out food (potluck format) and then assist by helping to clean up and ensure that all of the dishes got into the dishwasher. Dinner eaten around 6pm so should be able to leave by approximately 9pm. Tarra Mikeli-Wilson has offered to coordinate and interested students should let Mr. Gillard know
  5. Fireweed Lion’s Bosses Bash- Saturday December 12 grads are needed to operate a “by donation” coat check for the party at the Westmark Whitehorse. The coat check will be operational from 6pm to midnight. 6 to 8 students are requested and Kate Londero, Kathleen Limpio and Lauren Gilles have already offered to work at the coat check. There was also a request for parents to offer safe rides to partygoers as part of the Bosses Bash. Rides will be offered from 10pm until 2am (or earlier if the night shuts down earlier) and Mr. Biels and Mike Pater have offered. IF there are two other parents interested in offering to split the four hours with them, please contact Tanis Giczi and let her know.
  6. Arbonne cosmetics fundraiser discussed. On board to have a table set up for spring interviews, but most seemed reluctant to actually take orders for the product. Tanis to make copies of order forms for those students who expressed an interest.
  1. Grad Weekend for Vanier will be May 27th and 28th. Friday evening will be the Grad Mass at the Sacred Heart Cathedral. Saturday morning will be the cap and gown ceremony at the Yukon College gymnasium and Saturday evening will be the banquet and prom. At approximately 1030pm grads will be transported to wherever it is decided that they will have their substance-free after grad until 2am.
  1. Items that will still need to be discussed and decided upon include dinner ideas – grads and dates only with follow-up desert bar for families, meal vs. snacks, venue for events to occur, number of people to attend events.
  1. Next Meeting: Thursday December 3 at 7:oopm in the Vanier Library.
