The Local Academy Committee (LAC) consists of 9 people. They are appointed by the LDBS Academies Trust (LAT), which also appoints the Chair. The appointments are for 4 year terms of office. In addition these 9 governors may be supplemented by additional co-opted governors for a 1 year term. The Head Teacher and HOS are always members of theLAC. Two members of the LAC will be elected by the parents and one member will be elected by the staff of the school. In Millbrook Park Church of England Primary School one place was allocated to the Vicar of St Paul's Mill Hill and, because the school also falls within the parish of St Mary's Hendon that church was also invited to propose a governor for interview. Governors are checked for suitability by the LAC and LAT to ensure that each appointed member will bring skills and qualities which are complementary and to ensure that the school has the right people, with the right skills to lead the school forward.. For information about the LAT and further explanation about the LAC please go to the LAT website Crane
