Certified Attorney’s Annual Report – 2017

NACC Child Welfare Law Certification

All NACC certified Child Welfare Law Specialists are required to provide an Annual Report.

The purpose of this Annual Report is to confirm that you continue to meet all applicable NACC Certification Standards. Failure to return the Annual Report and Annual Fee will result in non-compliance with the Standard 4.1 and may result in the revocation of your certification.

The annual fee covers the previous year of your certification – fees have already been paid by NACC to ABA and your state of primary practice if applicable. If you decide not to continue as a CWLS, you must notify NACC in writing. You will be responsible for fees until that point.

Please note – Standard 2.7 requires all certified attorneys to submit disciplinary action to NACC as soon as permitted by law, not just on the annual report. Please see Standard 2.7 below:

2.7Disclosure of Conduct. In order to assist the evaluation of whether the applicant possesses an appropriate level of skill and expertise and has demonstrated integrity and dedication to the interests of clients, the applicant shall, to the extent known, disclose to the NACC as soon as permitted by law:

(a)The filing of any criminal charges against the applicant together with all details;

(b)The filing or submission of any allegation of unethical or inappropriate professional conduct with any court, grievance committee or disciplinary board or body together with all details;

(c)The assertion of any claim of professional negligence or professional liability, whether or not suit has been filed.
