POSITION:Director
Hours of Work:40 hours per week with the accrual of 2 hours per week towards a Rostered Day Off. Shifts to be negotiated on a roster basis but will be 7am – 3pm or 10am – 6pm.

Monday to Friday 2.30pm – 6.00pm
- Vacation Care
Monday to Friday 7am – 6pm
8 hour shift per day sometimes counted in the staff/student ratio

Salary and Conditions:
- Pay Scale Classification Director depending on qualifications
- Rate of pay in accordance with the Children’s Services Award 2010
- Employee super
- RDO’s – 2 hours per week accrued
- Holiday Leave – Four (4) weeks per year. Two (2) weeks to be taken at Christmas
- Long Service Leave
Administration
- Be accountable to the Management Committee for the administration of the service
- Coordinate and manage the day to day operations of the service
- Ensure day to day administrative tasks are completed appropriately, including requirements for funding and licensing
- Ensure the serviceadheres to all relevant regulations and licensing guidelines including maintenance of all appropriate records
- Liaise with Management Committee to ensure that all matters and procedure in relation to Government funding are complied with in accordance with appropriate guidelines.
- Submissions for funding to relevant authorities are made where applicable and funds applied for in accordance with the relevant guidelines and approvals.
- Assist with preparation of Centre budget in consultation with the treasurer and administrator, making appropriate recommendations and manage the service’s responsibilities with approved levels.
- Ensure budgets are monitored and adhered to. Any expenditure outside of the budget must be presented to the Management committee for approval
- Attend monthly Management Committee Meetings and prepare and present Directors reports regarding service issues.
- Maintain a professional office work-space
- Supervision and close liaison with centre administrator to ensureMYOB, payroll and financial requirements are completed in a timely fashion
- Ensure CCMS requirements are met
- Ensure service complies with all relevant Work Health and Safety legislation
- Maintain close links with Network and other OOSH centres in the surrounding area
- Ensure a good working relationship and regular meetings with Maroubra Junction Public School Principal
- Organise weekly staff roster
Facilities
- Ensure that the building is properly maintained
- Inform Management Committee of all repairs required and arrange for trade quotes where necessary.
- Acts as the contact person with the owners of the premises (or theirrepresentative), in relation to maintenance matters and licence arrangements
Staffing
- Overseeand ensure the implementation and maintenance of a healthy, safe and clean environment for staff and children
- Manage staff effectively through liaison and consultation with the Management Committee
- Ensure all staff are familiar with and adhere to all Centre policies and procedures as part of a comprehensive induction and orientation program
- Ensure all staff employed at the Centre meet all Child Protection and other legislation as required
- Ensure grievance and disciplinary procedures are adhered to as required
- Monitor staff sign-in book
- Ensure all staff are provided with adequate ongoing professional development opportunities e.g. child protection, first aid certificates, asthma and anaphylaxis, age appropriate planning etc in order to fulfil legislative requirements and enhance staff development
- Act as a mentor for staff undergoing further qualification
- Provide staff with a clear and concise list of duties to be completed during each shift
- Ensure staff are aware of individual children’s allergy status and restrictions
- Plan and conduct staff meetings regularly depending on the needs of the service
- To make staff aware of emergency procedures and enact fire drills as prescribed in the Education and Care Services National Regulations
- To carry out duties efficiently and in a professional manner providing a role model for other staff of appropriate dress, speech, behaviour, punctuality, dependability and initiative
- Liaise with the committee in respect to the development of and recruitment to permanent staffing positions
- Implement appropriate recruitment practices
- Prepare staff time sheets for Centre administrator
- Update the wages spreadsheet for employees engaged in accordance with the Children’s Services Award 2010 for approval by the nominated Management Committee representative, where applicable
- Undertake annual performance appraisal for all permanent and long term casual staff members
Children
- Liaise with and consult with parents regarding the needs of the children and the community and ensure service meets those needs
- Ensure adequate supervision of the children at all times, and that all care is taken for their safety and welfare
- Maintain acceptable behaviour in the children and promote children’s self-esteem
Implement the service’s behaviour management policy
Programming and Policy Development
- Develop, implement and evaluate servicepolicies and procedures and ensure these and licensing conditions are met in consultation with the Management Committee
- Implement a program that fulfils the requirements of the National Quality Standards and My Time, Our Place
- Maintenance of the Quality improvement Plan ensuring compliance with Education and Care services National Law and Regulations
- Provide suitable activities to cater for a range of age groups
- Arrange appropriate work spaces to cater for a variety of activities
- Provide an overview of the weekly program to parents
- Vacation Care Programming and related information to be made available to parents from week 5 of term (approximately).
