CENTRAL VENUE – GUIDE 2015_16

What is Central Venue (CV) ?

The Birmingham Netball League centralise Division 4 to 13 netball matches at one or two venues a year. The 2015_16 Season will be held at Stockland Green, Erdington.

What Do I have to do before the first match starts ?

You need to:

  1. Make sure all your players are EN affiliated BEFORE they play and have written proof. (You,

your team and the opponents will not be insured if one of your players is not affiliated. Do not play any non affiliated player.) Go online to All England and follow the membership process.

  1. Register your players with sample signatures and send to the appropriate committee member. You pay £2 for the 8th player and beyond which you can pay at the CV desk.

(you will lose points for non registered players)

  1. Provide your named umpire to the Umpire secretary 2 weeks before the game.

What Do I have to do on CV match day ?

  1. Pay your court and umpire fees at the CV desk (cash or cheque) before you get on court. You can

now pay by bank transfer if you prefer. Please speak to Ann Duffin if you wish to do this.

  1. Make sure all your players have signed the match card and you have written any substitutes names

on the card BEFORE the match starts.

  1. Make sure your team are on court READY TO PLAY ten minutes before the allotted time
  2. Toss a coin to decide on the first centre pass and court ends.
  3. Play to the rules and respect the umpires at all times.
  4. Give 3 cheers to your opponents at the end of the game.
  5. Alert Debbie Rolinson and Norma McClean if you cannot play.

What Do I have to regarding Umpires ?

  1. You must have an EN affiliated umpire for your team with a minimum qualification of “beginner”, fill in the Umpire registration form & submit to Norma McClean.
  2. You must nominate your umpire for each match, at least two weeks before, advising a preferred time slot,the slots will be filled on a first come first served basis. All via e-mail with Norma McClean.
  3. You do not need to pay the umpire this is done by the BNL.
  4. If a match is postponed due to weather remember to inform your umpire.
  5. If you have any problems finding an umpire then the team will need to speak to Norma

McClean.

Match Fees per team for Season 2015_16 £25.00 per week which includes umpire fee.

Cheques payable to The Birmingham Netball League (no initials please)

Weekly payers must pay two games in advance so bring £50.00 on week 1.
