CENTRAL FEDERATION OF TEACHERS’ SCHOLARSHIP

  1. Purpose

The Central Federation of Teachers’ Scholarship has been established to help one member of the graduating class further his/her studies in the field of education.

  1. Eligibility

Any student who is a member of the current graduating class and will be attending a four-year college or a community college at the beginning of the next school year is eligible. A statement of admission to the school is required.

  1. Application Procedure

An application may be obtained from the Guidance Department of Central High School. The applicant must complete the application form and return it to the Guidance Department by the announced deadline date. (March 31st)

  1. Selection Procedure

The recipient will be chosen by a committee comprised of members of the Central Federation of Teachers.

  1. Selection Criteria

Final selection of a candidate by the Scholarship Committee will be based on scholarship (a minimum cumulative average of a 3.0), financial need, extra-curricular activities, community involvement, and work experience.

  1. Financial Stipend

The scholarship will be$500.00. It will be presented to the recipient at the graduation ceremony.
