Minutes 7pm CWA Hall, Port Noarlunga 26 March 2008
1.Welcome: Chair Ray Bailey welcomed members and advised there will be a light supper at the end of the meeting. Attendance as per the attendance book –18 residents.
For the City of Onkaparinga: Cr Bill Jamieson, Steven Mathewson, Chief Finance Officer, Stephen Mounce, Team Leader Finance, Joan Murrell, Team Leader Revenue Services, Terra Lea Ranson, Team Leader Community Projects.

3.Political updates: Letter from Min Hill re CCCF letter re Proposed Seaford Rail extension. Copies available. Bunnings & Beach Rd email - The consultation for the improvements to manage traffic at the Bunning's access from Beach Road will be in the form of plans sent to Council for comment and the immediate properties and businesses. The Department is also working on changes to the pavement marking on the Beach Road Roundabout. The changes will allow traffic using the northern exit from the Southern Expressway to right turn into Beach Road from both lanes. Regards Andrew Excell Senior Network Management Engineer. City of Onkaparinga Community Forum – What are Community Renewable Energy Projects? City of Onkaparinga Civic Centre Thursday April 3rd 6.30-9.30pm.
Coastal Information EveningThursday April 3, 2008 7pm - 8:30pm
Speakers: City of Onkaparinga Chief Financial Officer Steven Mathewson spoke about the Council budgetary processes and gave a PowerPoint presentation showing the Council’s Financial Planning Framework (budgeting & rates). Stephen Mounce, Team Leader Finance spoke about the budget processes including the 2007/08 budget outcomes, the rating policy and process etc. Joan Murrell, Team Leader Revenue Services gave a PowerPoint presentation and spoke about collecting the rates.
Questions were taken from the floor and answered by staff and Cr Jamieson.
Staff will get back to the CCCF regarding the following question - Does the Council pay the Industrial Training Levy?
Terra Lea Ranson spoke about the Draft Community Plan Strategic Directions for our communities 2008 – 2028.
Ron Jenkins moved the following resolution - "That the Central Coast Community Forum supports the City of Onkaparinga in its efforts to restrict State and /or Federal Government approved developments within the Council's boundaries unless they meet Council development criteria and that adequate infrastructure development is included in such government development approvals" Seconded by Brian Neldner. All were in favour of the resolution.
It was agreed that copies be sent to all local State members, the State Minister responsible for such developments, the Mayor of the City of Onkaparinga, the Mid South Coast and Wine Coast elected members and our local Federal member.
