Dear Parents,
Centerville Elementary School will be having a dance team this year. No tryouts required! The team will consist of third, fourth, and fifth grade boys and girlswho will be demonstrating their dancing talents.
All practices will be held in the gymfrom3:45-4:15 on Thursday. We will escort dance team to the carpool ramp after practice dismisses. Any child not picked up by 4:30 will be sent to the Afterschool program to pay the registration fee of $35, in addition to the daily fee of $9.
Some events you and your child can look forward to include the Centerville Christmas Parade, the school Christmas program, Field day performance, and tentative skating rink performance. Attendance is required for all practice sessions.Poor attendance (3 or more absences) will eliminate the students from eligibilityto participate in performances. We will be very strict concerning each student being on time and having regular attendance. Please be on the lookout for team t-shirts that will be for sale soon! Shirts usually cost approximately 10 dollars each for our team to look unified and spirited!
Your child will need to return the permission slip below in order to participate. By signing the permission slip, your child represents the dance team’s expectations of demonstrating Mustang Pride and modeling RESPECT. Consistent communication will be held between club sponsors and homeroom teachers to ensure that our dance team is representing model behavior and work ethic throughout the school year. If inconsistent behavior should occur, it will result in dismissal from the dance team. Please help us support leadership skills within your child.
Be sure to look on our dance team website on the CES homepage under “Campus Life.” We will post all newsletters, pictures, as well as future important dates and information online. If you do not want pictures of your child posted on our website, please provide a note to the sponsor. Posting our newsletters online will help your child be responsible in catching up on important news if any practices are missed.
The children are really fired up about the team, and we are sure it will be a positive experience for all of those who take advantage of this opportunity!
