About CTC

Since its founding over fifteen years ago as a Regional Technology Transfer Center for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration CTC, a private non-profit 501(c)3 company, has been providing technical support services to government agencies by leveraging our skill and knowledge in: science and technology, business development, technology commercialization and transfer, public safety systems, and technology applications. In 1998, CTC established the Public Safety Technology Center (PSTC) toutilize its expertise in support of the state and local public safety community. CTC’s core competencies include: gathering end-user requirements; performing needs assessments; providing in-house and external subject matter expertise; managing meetings, focus groups, and workshops; performing market assessments; providing test and evaluation support; as well as technology commercialization and transition.

CTC has developed strong working relationships with DHS, as well and the Departments of Justice and Defense, and has executed and/or partnered on numerous projects in support of these agencies. Among the many tasks that CTC has performed in support of its Federal clients are: technology assessments; technology transition; technology commercialization; executing workshops, focus groups, and conferences; and developing test and evaluation plans. CTC is currently contracted with the Natick Soldier Systems Center and its National Protection Center to collaborate on technology transfer, test and evaluation and commercialization of relevant protective clothing and equipment technologies and integrated systems to first responders. Additionally, CTC is under contract with the National Institute for Hometown Security to provide commercialization services for Critical Infrastructure Protection Technologies presently being developed.

An important element of CTC’s strength is that its staff is comprised of personnel with strong business and technical skills combined with former public safety professionals and other subject matter experts who have developed trusted relationships with the public safety community. On an “as-needed” basis, CTC also works with a large pool of “subject matter experts,” public safety consultants who provide practical, operational and technological insights into the everyday incident command problems practitioners face during emergencies.
