Cendrillon Book Project

Objectives: To examine common themes among Cinderella stories from across the globe and create an original story written in the past tense in French.

Procedure:

1. Determine if you would like to work alone, with a partner or in a group of three. There will not be any groups of four. The more people in your group, the longer your story will have to be.

2. Write your rough draft. Your story must contain common Cinderella themes. Consult the “Cendrillon Gloable” chart that you filled out in class. In addition, your story must be written in the past tense. Remember to use the passé composé for any actions that happen. The imparfait will be used to express repetition, scene setting, feelings, and descriptions. Your story must have a solid beginning, middle and ending.

Length (feel free to write more, if necessary)

Alone – 20 pages, 1 sentence per page

Partners – 20 pages, 2 sentences per page

Group of 3 – 20 pages, 3 sentences per page

3. Complete the Common Themes Chart below (in French) and include a copy in your book

Nom, et la significance / Sa vie et ses problèmes / Les personnes méchantes / Ce qu’elle veut faire / La magie ou la transformation / Ce qu’elle laisse et où / La Fin

4. Create the book on Google Drive Presentation. The book must contain the following:

- Title page (title, author’s name, picture)

- 20 pages of text

- Pictures on each page (cite pictures at end of slide show, include just the links)

- Common Themes page (last page of book)

- SUBMIT THROUGH GOOGLE CLASSROOM

5. Read your book to the class!
