Title:TO BE CONTINUED

Scripture Text: Mark 16:1-6

INTRODUCTION

After Jesus died and was placed in the tomb, a large stone was rolled onto the tomb. This meant case closed. The disciples were afraid and in hiding, however, bold women went to anoint the body as the tradition entailed. Their concern was who would roll the stone away so they could have access to the body. However, they discovered that the stone had been rolled away. In the Scripture text vs2 tells us as the sun rose, so the Son of God arose.

Points of Discussion

When you look down, you only see impossibilities, weaknesses and what you’ve done, but when you look up God says “to be continued” (Mark 6:3-4)

What would have happened if Jesus had remained in the grave?- The devil would have won.

The devil thought it was time for the obituary, but God changed it to a testimony.

By strength no man prevailed- the stone was too large to be rolled away by the women.

Your present will be better than your past vs 6. Jesus was crucified but He is risen.

Man laid Him, but God raised Him vs 6.

We walk in newness when we walk with Jesus Romans 6: 4-6

God has the last say Isaiah 25:8

Jesus paid the price of sin and death Romans 6:23

God gives us the gift of eternal life which was paid for by the life of Jesus- a life that could not be stopped by death.

Things you need to know

Jesus had a bigger assignment that death could not stop- to save the lost.

People may say you are down, but God lifts you up.

We have power when Jesus is working on our inside- He makes us more and more like Him.

We don’t operate by the old rule, but by new rules of His Kingdom.

There is beauty in understanding what God has done in our life.

God takes away the rebuke of His people Isaiah 25:8- pain, sorrow, disappointment.

Trials and temptations are part of life, but He who called us is faithful- in the midst of the fire He is there.

When we receive the gift of salvation which was paid for by Jesus, we should walk with our head held high.

The only favour you can do to a seed is to bury it. It will come out as a tree. You are a seed.

CONCLUSION

Jesus is no longer in the grave! He is risen! Death has been swallowed up! Jesus paid the price. The new chapter of resurrection is still being written and we have reason to be excited. The devil is like a roaring lion and tries to scare us into his trap. We must roar back by speaking the word of God over our situation. God has the last say.
