Employees in Indiabegin earning recognition for high performance

Celebrating Performance, Accenture’s recognition and rewards program, has been in place since the beginning of January. And in India, nearly 100 employees have already received awards for their hard work and high performance!

His manager also noted his work on Methods and Procedures documentation and his willingness to support the team by doing whatever needs to be done for the project.

“Don't hesitate to share your knowledge,” said Prakash, noting that knowledge is a treasure that grows.

Vasumathi Thyagarajan is another India-based employee who has been recognized through the program. “I think this is a great recognition program and allows us to recognize contribution almost immediately,” he said. Thyagarajan received reward points in appreciation for the contributions in the successful completion and go-live for a project with Ashuelot. Thyagaraja used the rewards points to purchase a pendant.

Narendra J. Mane, a programmer in Bangalore 2 – Futura, received reward points for maximizing team performance. Mane used some points to purchase a super blender, but saved some points to put toward a gift for his mother.

“This is a unique method of rewarding the performance of an individual and also this will motivate the individual to put his maximum efforts to improve his performance,” said Mane.

Using Celebrating Performance, all employees at all levels are able to send e-cards and e-certificates to their colleagues and supervisors in recognition of superior performance on a project or task. When an employee is recognized, his or her career counselor is also automatically notified.

In addition to e-cards and e-certificates, the program utilizes reward points, granted by objectives reviewers and career counselors to employees below the senior executive level in appreciation for a job well done. Accumulated points can then be redeemed for merchandise or services such as electronics, furniture and getaway packages, which are displayed in local catalogs. Merchandise and services are available for a range of “point prices” so that employees may redeem their points immediately, or opt to save them for higher “priced” items. Popular items in India include electronics, like PDAs, and jewelry, including pearl earrings and necklaces.
