Celebrate! Husky Spirit Challenge Week Agenda

Hey there, Huskies! The week you’ve been waiting for is finally here! We hope that you and your team are ready to get down and dirty in a series of challenges that will not only allow you to showcase your school spirit but also give your team a chance at winning some amazing prizes! The week will entail a variety of diverse events for all types of competitors but only one team will get to call themselves the CHAMPIONS of Husky Spirit Challenge Week! Bring on the competition, and don’t forget to HAVE FUN!

Below is the agenda for the week and descriptions of each event.

At each event you must sign in with your team at the UPB table located at each event, unless noted differently below. Please have your team name and names of your group members ready, along with identification of your members (Student ID Card will be REQUIRED). Please note:

Monday: Mocktail Wars

Where: Cascade Room (Atwood Memorial Center)

When: 7:00 pm

Team Members: 4-5 members may participate in this event

Points: 5 pts will be awarded for participation, additional points for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place

A spin-off of the popular TV show “Cupcake Wars,” this event sponsored by UChoose will allow teams to unleash their creativity while creating a “Mocktail” with a variety of ingredients that will be provided, but there’s a catch! Teams will be allowed to “sabotage” each other by stealing or replacing important ingredients and wagering points to buy additional items to make the best Mocktail! Nobody wants olives in their Mocktarita….

Tuesday: Dodgeball

Where: Halenbeck Hall (Balcony)

When: 7:00 pm

Team Members: 5-10 members may participate in this event

Points: 5 pts will be awarded for participation, additional points for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place

“Remember the 5 D’s of Dodgeball: Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive and Dodge!” Teams will compete in a dodgeball tournament against other teams to determine the Dodgeball Champions of Husky Spirit Week! Bring your fiercest team members and of course your best dodgeball gear to separate your team from the other teams. And don’t let a lack of athleticism or agility scare you away, remember Dodgeball can be “A True Underdog Story”!

Wednesday Event #1: Celebrate Through Service

Where: Check-In @ Atwood Lounge

When: 1:00 pm-4:00 pm

Team Members: 5-20 members may participate in this event

Points: 5 pts will be awarded for attendance of 5 members or more.

What better way to show your school spirit AND give back to your community than to compete and volunteer at the same time! (More details to come)

Wednesday Event #2: “Huskies Got Talent!” Talent Show

Where: Ritsche Auditorium

When: 7:00 pm

Team Members: 5-10 members may participate in this event

Points: 5 pts will be awarded for attendance of 5 members or more, 10 pts will be awarded for participation, and additional points for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place

Have a talent that would put even the craziest “America’s Got Talent” contestants to shame? Now is your time to show the world (or at least your fellow Huskies…)! Better start your “2 a days” now! In addition to lots of points, the first place winners will also bragging rights. Top three winning teams will showcase their talents during halftime of the men’s basketball game on Friday February 20th.

Thursday: Human Battleship

Where: Halenbeck Pool

When: 8:30 pm

Team Members: 3-4 members may participate in this event

Points: 5 pts will be awarded for participation, additional points for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

You won’t hear any “B3’s” in this game of battleship! Team members will compete inside a real life “battleship” that will be provided to them in a cut-throat game where the team’s goal is to sink other team’s ships (and not be sunk!). Teams should provide their own swimwear as well as materials to throw water in other teams ship and remove water from their own (i.e. floaties, buckets, etc.). When launching your attack, you’ll need to watch your back! You never know who could sneak up and sink your ship…

Friday Event #1: Snow Sculpture Competition

Where: Herb Brooks Hockey Arena

When: 12:00 pm

Team Members: 5-20 members may participate in this event

Points: 5 pts will be awarded for participation, additional points for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place

What good is living in MinneSNOWta if you don’t build a snow sculpture or two in the winter?! Team members will build a snow sculpture showcasing their school spirit outside of Herb Brooks Hockey Arena. May the biggest, baddest, and most creative sculpture win!

Friday Event #2: Atwood After Dark

Where: Atwood Memorial Center

When: 9:00 pm

Team Members: 5-20 members may participate in this event

Points: ??

After a long week of competition, it’s time to kick back and have some fun at Atwood After Dark! (Getting in touch with Pakriti for details)

IDEAS: Points for showing up. 100% of team-5 pts, 75% of team- 4 pts, 50% of team- 3 pts, 25% of team- 2 pts

BASKETBALL GAME- Same point scales as afterdark for attendance ?

Winners will be announced at the Men’s Hockey Game 2/21
