Executive Summary (200 words)

In this section you can provide a summary of approximately 200 words that allows the reader of your report to see the essential details before reviewing the whole document (Topic of the project, target group, purpose, etc.).

Process used for this analysis (5 pts)

Describe how you conduct your analysis? Explain the following issues:

  • Who did you contact with to do your analysis? (Define their characteristics and numbers) Give satisfactory information (photos, contact information, sound record etc.) about people you contact for the project.
  • What did you prepare for analysis data collection? (Interview, questionnaire, observation, etc.)
  • How did you collect and analyze your data in the analysis phase?

Goals for the instruction (7pts)

List your expected behaviors and gains to reach your main goal.

Review your written gains and expected behaviors and then reorganize them in a logical order

Review the last form of your list, some gains may be the sub-gains of others. Remove the extra gains that include another gain.

Review your list, for last time order them from most important one to the least.

A goal statement must include:

•What learners will be able to do

•Performance context

•Tools that will be available for learners

Instructional Objectives (Performance Objectives) (10 pts)

Write your instructional objectives that are related to following domains.

  • Cognitive Domain - knowledge and information related behavior
  • Psychomotor Domain - hands-on , doing behavior
  • Affective - attitudes, values, feeling, belief-related behavior

Please keep in mind that you should include the followings in your objective statements.

  • Knowledge/skills to be performed by the learners
  • Include conditions under which the knowledge/skills will be performed.
  • The criteria for the performance that will be used to assess learners performance

Needs Analysis (17pts)

Describe the needs about your topic? Does your target group knowledgeable about the topic? If yes, to what extend?

What kinds of problems do they face in the topic you selected to teach?

Write your decisions about your project.

Report on your document to discover the confirmed need for this instruction. Justify each item.

How did you conduct your needs assessment

  • By interviewing with the students from your target group (AT LEAST 4 STUDENTS) (in addition to this, you may also interview with experts, etc.) and
  • By implementing questionnaire to your target group (AT LEAST 15 STUDENTS).

Please write this part by referring your resource(s) you benefited during the analysis process. Possible resources: current students, students who took this course before, assistants, instructors, etc. Please make sure that your explanation is not based on your own ideas, but data you collected from resources.

What is the prior knowledge level of your target group about your topic?

What type of prerequisite knowledge and skills those are important to be able to start your instruction?

How your target group would like to learn?

How do theorists define this age group’s developmental level, and the way they learn?

What does motivate your target group to learn?

What are their attitudes toward the topic that you intend to teach?

What are your decisions about the instructional material design project according to target group analysis?

Context (Learning Environment) analysis (10pts)

Orienting context

Are the learners willing to participate in this instruction?

Why do they want to participate in such instruction?

Do they think that the instruction will be beneficial for them?

Instructional context:

Where do your learners want to take the instruction?

What resources should be provided in learning environment to use your instructional material?

Describe the place where your instructional material implemented. For example, if it is a computer lab, describe the organization of computers and desks, their number, position and etc.

Who will solve technical problems?

Will the learner use the materials by himself/herself or under the supervision of a person?

What will be the roles (teacher, learner and etc.)?

What’re your decisions about the project with respect to context analysis?

Transfer Context

What kinds of context you will provide them to apply their knowledge and skills?

Provide information for how students will apply what they learn from your instruction.

Task/Content analysis (10 pts)

In this section, please write what content you selected for this project and its structure (subtopics, relationship between subtopics etc.). It would be better if you visualize your content structures in a concept map.
