CEAT Launches All-new Zoom XL for Electric Motorcycles

First variant rolled out on Tork’s T6X Electric Bike

MUMBAI, 30th September 2016: India’s leading tyre manufacturer CEAT Ltd has launched a new range of Zoom XL tyres made exclusively for electric motorcycles. The first variant of the tyre was rolled out on Pune-based startup Tork Motorcycles’ first electric motorcycle T6X in Bengaluru today.

The tyres have been fine-tuned to suit the requirements of the new T6X motorcycle and have been rolled out post extensive on-road testing on the electric two-wheeler. This fresh variant of CEAT’s Zoom XL tyre has very low rolling resistance which should significantly reduce the electricity consumption from the battery while riding. The tyre also compliments Tork’s promise of ensuring suitable road speed for an electric vehicle.

Commenting on the development, Mr. Nitish Bajaj, Vice President-Marketing, CEAT Ltd, said, “The electric two-wheeler industry is set to witness a boom in the next few years in India, as we gear up towards smarter solutions in the automotive space. We at CEAT are keen to be a part of this evolution and our association with Tork Motorcycles is a testament to that. As the first-ever electric motorbike in the country, the Tork T6X is set to revolutionize the industry by adding an extra dimension that was missing before. We believe in making mobility safer and smarter, and customers will get this perfect combination with CEAT and Tork Motorcycles.”
