SANCTIONINGAPPLICATION AND RULES

TheOrganizer(s) agree to useonlytheOfficialslisted on page 3 ofthisformafter,theyhavebeenapprovedbyCDF.List the country of origin of non-Canadian Officials. Anychange(s)made to this list, aftersanctioning approval has been given,mustbesent to the Admin – Secretary.

1.Uponreceipt ofCDF sanctioningacknowledgement, theOrganizer(s) ofthe eventagreetothe following:

a.Thewords«SanctionedbyCDFandNDCC»must bepublishedin thecompetitionprogram.

b.ACDFObserver, appointed byCDF, must bepresentateachsanctioned event. Where possible, the Observer will be appointed from the Officials Panel at the event. IftheCDFObserver is not alreadyan officialat the event, heorshe is to be providedtwocomplimentarydoor ticketsto the competition.TheCDFappointedObserver’sname mustbepublished underthe section,“Officials”,in the competitionprogram. TheCDFObserver'sname must also beannouncedwhenannouncingthe names ofofficials duringthecompetition.

c.All competitioninformationmaterialsandeventprogramsmust publish thefollowingliabilitydisclaimer:

“No responsibilityforloss or theft of articlesleft in changingrooms or ballroomscan beacceptedbythe Organizer(s),byCanadianDanceSportFederation(CDF) or by National Dance Council of Canada (NDCC).Neither cantheybeheldliable for injurysustainedbypersonsparticipatingin or attendingthisevent,howevercaused.Everyoneattendingtheeventdoes so at his or her own risk.”

d.CDF/NDCCwill not be responsible foranyfinancial liabilityincurredataCDF/NDCCsanctionedevent.

e.Iftherearechangestoanyofthefollowing,thesanctiongrantedisvoiduntilthechangeiscommunicated to the CDFAdmin – Secretary and the sanction is re-approvedbyCDF/NDCC.

  • Chair ofAdjudicators–musthavequalificationsrecognizedbyCDF/NDCC
  • Adjudicators–musthavequalificationsrecognizedbyCDF/NDCC
  • Scrutineers– musthavequalificationsrecognizedbyCDF/NDCC
  • Invigilatorsmust havequalificationsrecognizedbyCDF/NDCC.
  • Inclusion ofcompetitioneventsnot previouslymentioned inoriginalsanctioningform.

f.TheOrganizer(s)must provide theCDFAdmin-Secretary withthe listofprofessionalcompetitorswith CDFmembershipnumbers(list country of non-Canadians),atleast1weekbefore event.Inaddition,allcompetition entryforms mustinclude aspace foranamateur orprofessionalregistration number.All Canadiancompetitors, Amateur andProfessionalmustberegisteredwith arecognizedorganization. Competitorsfromother countriesmust beregistered with an organizationrecognizedbyCDF/NDCC.

g.Only competitions organized by CDF members in good standing will be considered for sanctioning.

2.TheOrganizer(s)agreeto abide bytheCDFRules and Regulationsfor alleventsfeaturingProfessionalCompetitors and the NDCC Rules and Regulations for all events featuring amateur competitors.

3.Ifnon-regulationcompetitions, forexamplestudio or closedcompetitions,areheldin addition toregularevents, the Organizer(s)agree:

  • To runthe events of suchcompetition in aseparate time slot from the regularcompetition,
  • Tolistsucheventsseparatelyin competitionprogram.
  • To only use qualified judges approved by CDF/NDCC. If a different panel is used to the regular event panel, they must be listed separately in the program.

4.Ifthe Organizer(s)hasbeencontacted directly bya professionalwishing to apprenticejudge, theOrganizer(s) must directtheprofessionalinvolved to contact the CDFAdmin-Secretarytomakethe arrangement with the Organizer(s) and Chairperson and to ensure that professionalhas the proper CDF paperwork needed.

5.Failureto complywith the aboverulesmayresultinfuturecompetitionsanction not beinggranted orthecurrentlygranted sanctionbeingwithdrawnbyCDF/NDCC.

6.CDF/NDCCreserves therightto refusesanctioningwithout explanation.

Expensesfor

Travel:Fordriving distancethat is greaterthan 50km oneway,officials aretobe reimbursedat45 centsperkm. All parking costs are to be reimbursed.

1.ScrutineeersareincludedasOfficials andmustbecompensated asan “A”adjudicator.
2.It isthe Organizer(s)responsibility to reimburse hotelaccommodation and alltravelexpenses,including parking, for outof townAdjudicators.
3.Iftravelling toan eventexceeds2 hours andtheevent starts AT 12 noonorearlier,accommodation and a mealmustbeprovided onthe day priortotheeventstart.
4.In thesameabovescenario,breakfastmustbeincluded on theday oftheevent.
Additionalcontract informationforOrganizers
OneDayEvents
Whereaminimumnumber ofjudges is hired (not enough for two separate panels of 3 or 5 judges),theOrganizer(s)isrequired to hireenough judges so there are rest periods for individual judges. Organizerswishing to expand theirpanelabovetheminimum requirementbyusing extra adjudicatorsmayreach apaymentagreementwith suchperson(s)individually.
MultiDayEvents
Where Adjudicators Officials arerequired to workall sessionsthefulldayrateof $300shall apply. If, however,attendanceat allthreesessions is notrequired,theOrganizer(s)may choosetonegotiatea reduceddailyrate.
Inall casesthefeesand expensestobepaid totheAdjudicatorsand OfficialsbytheOrganizer(s)shallbeclearlystated in theEmployment contract,whichmustbesignedbyall partiespriortotheevent.
