Spring Speaking/CDE Practice & Contest Schedule2018 Season
It is the start of a new season. Attached you will find the upcoming dates forthe competition season. Dates are subject to change. Practices will begin promptly after school (2:50pm), unless otherwise specified. Points will be tallied accordingly. Please plan your calendars, now! Our teams through hard work and dedication in past years have been blessed with success. However, it is up to you to decide if you want to continue that success or just be another team. DEDICATIONis a must;we will not accept anything less.
BE ADVISED IF YOU START THE SEASON MAKE SURE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO FULFILL YOUR OBLIGATIONS TO YOURSELF, YOUR CHAPTER, AND TEAMMATES. REMEMBER, OTHERS ARE COUNTING ON YOU!!!

Attached you will find a tentative contest calendar. Times, dates, and events are subject to change.
If you are interested in the talent contest, please speak with Advisors regarding intent and practice times.
Expectations & Obligations
- A student non-refundable contest fee maybe charged to offset expenses.
- Not all students are guaranteed to go to every contest(Due to Travel constraints).
- All students must attend at least 70% of the practices to attend competitions unless otherwise approved by coach.
-All students must be in good standing with the chapter, and an active member to qualify for each competition.
-IF STUDENTS FAIL TO FULFILL THEIR OBLIGATIONS FOR ANY REASON AFTER PAYMENT HAS BEEN COMPLETED ON THEIR BEHALF, STUDENTS WILL BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY & ALL REIMBURSEMENTS OF MONIES PERTAINING TO THAT CONTEST (UNTIL PAYMENT IS RECEIVED STUDENTS WILL REMAIN INACTIVE AND PUT ON THE FINES LIST.).
-All Area/State teams consist of 4 members. Students are allowed to try out for as many teams as they would like, however, students must make a final team designation by 1/19/2018, as agreed upon by advisors.

I have read and understand all expectations regarding the FFA CDE/Speaking/talent competition. Furthermore, I understand that if I do not live up to the expectations set forth by my chapter I will be held accountable for my decisions as stated above.

*Students must achieve a 90% or higher on their evaluations before they will be allowed to participate in their respective contest.
-If not enough students qualify to constitute a complete team, until team qualifications are met the team will not practice or compete. If team qualifications are not met by January 12ththe team will be cancelled.
*Speaking/Talent students will need to have their Preliminary typed rough drafts/outlines of their speeches/presentations completed by January 12th.
*On dates where contest participation is to be finalized, qualifying test may be administered. Above standards will be required to participate*
