Thank you for attending Girlguiding Scotland INTOPS 2016. It was a pleasure to meet you and I hope you enjoyed the weekend, the experiences it gave you and that you became INTOPSified!
I am delighted to be able to offer you the opportunity to attend the Irish International Camp trip. You will join with approximately 20 other girls aged 14 to 17 and 4 or 5 leaders to represent Girlguiding Scotland on this once in a lifetime experience.
This is the first time in many years that we have attended an Irish International camp and we are incredibly excited at the opportunity it will present to our girls and adult members, to experience International Guiding for possibly the first time.
The name of the camp is IGGNITE2017 and there is a Facebook page available, if you or your parent/guardian wish to join it. The camp is in Tipperary and is from 30th July to 6th August 2017, however you may travel the day before or after the event, this will be confirmed by the team leaders.
Based on personal experience of UK and Irish Camp trips we would envisage the cost being between £400 and £500. However as you will understand, prices vary due to destination, length of stay, transport, availability etc. Unfortunately Girlguiding Scotland is unable to provide you with a contribution towards the cost of your trip. It is possible that financial help may come from your County/Division/District and external sources. Advice will be shared with you on how to apply to any funding opportunities available.
To secure your place on the trip, a non-refundable deposit of £50 is required by Monday 31st October 2016. If this is a cause for concern, please contact us and we will assist you as much as possible. Please make cheques payable to Girlguiding Scotland and forward to SHQ for the attention of Audrey Muir.
Your final payment will be payable to Girlguiding Scotland by the 31st May 2017, however, no further payments should be paid until the exact budget is agreed. SHQ shall send a letter to you, your County Commissioner and County International Adviser with a final balance to be paid. You should liaise with your County team to arrange to make the payment by either of the following methods:
• A cheque made payable to Girlguiding Scotland for your contribution, pass this cheque to your county and your County can forward with any contribution they wish to make.
OR
• By paying your contribution to your County, who will facilitate your payment to us with any contribution they wish to make.
You should agree with your County which is the best option for both of you. Please note SHQ does not take payments in instalments.
This will be a fantastic opportunity to meet with Girl Guides and Girl Scouts from other parts of the world and I do hope you are able to accept the offer.
