It was noted that the management of chemicals document indicated to dispose of chemicals that are older than one year. Fred has indicated that this practice can be addressed in a discretionary manner.

·  Classroom overcrowding issues are a concern, however Fred feels that this topic is not in his realm of expertise and should be presented to Brian Eggleton regarding Student Safety

·  “Workload strategies” working 30 hours in 4 days rather than 5 days (7.5 hours rather than 7 hours). This is a curriculum/School site issue. It is the sole decision of the principal of each site on how they wish to deploy their staff. Staff may approach their School administration regarding changing the hours of work in a day.

·  In a recent CBE Newsletter presented by David Stevenson; Deputy chief Superintendent, the use of The Risk Assess tool has become the currently approved resource for CBE Science Staff.

·  The risk assess tool is intended to be utilized as an informed document.

·  Teachers may require additional time via learning services on using the risk assess tool

·  When dealing with non-compliance issues in managing the risk assess tool, Technicians are encouraged to document issues and inform the School’s administration

·  If proper documentation and non-compliance issues are presented and not rectified onsite, continue to proceed with filing an unsafe condition report.

·  Any ongoing issues with the Risk Assess tool should be communicated to Brian Eggleton; Safety Services to foster streamlining the program to be in alignment with the CBE Science Safety Manual and Alberta Education Legislation.

·  Ventilation issues if technicians have concerns or questions regarding air quality or ventilation, please forward to Fred
